Hectic Heaven

My day, my Daughter and my Dad

The day started out cooler, much cooler, so I took advantage and planted a bit more in the garden... my daughter was supposed to work today and left.  About 20 minutes after she left  I got  a call from her... her car had broke down and she was stuck...so I hastily threw on my jeans and T- shirt and headed to my dads house...he is the mechanic... we went in to find that her fan belt and come off.   So next was the trip to the auto parts store, and then home again so dad could get his tools, and so DD could change into her jeans....my Dad has one rule... and it was this way when I was growing up....If he works on your car, you will be there working right beside him.... as a teen  any of the kids (guy or girls)I knew were welcome to come over and get help... but they HAD to work on it with him...I know it saved me lots of money over the years...I knew how to tune my car up.. change oil, tires, and other things... I could spot it when someone was trying to rip me off .  Im sorry to say it was tried a few times.

I dropped DD off and headed to the bank and grist mill for more flour and yeast... I am home now... its cloudy and cool and  showering periodically.. the air smells clean now... I love the smell after a rain.... so fresh... right up there with the smell of sheets dried on the clothes line..

wow - I wish I had had someone like that my teenage years. I feel so car illiterate, and I know people have ripped me off, but I cannot say who or where or when.
