I didnt realize how long it had been since I wrote on my blog. 

DH and I did ok at the fair.. he got first place on his  summer squash, second on his brown eggs.  My woven sash got a first, my felted bag took a second, and my spinning got a 2nd and 3rd.. over all we were pleased and has loads of fun....

Its been a pretty  quiet summer over all... we have not done much but work...I came down with a nasty case of the shingles and so I am not working right now, wel until school starts again (sept 2)...that is one of the most miserable things I have ever had to deal with.. I am 3 weeks into it and still it is very uncomfortable wearing cloths that touch on my hip. 

Last week we went to the rendezvous over at the coast.. it is always a nice one, and the costumes I wear are so loose they didnt bother me much... I didnt do as well on the rifle trail as I had hoped to do, but did ok.   My FIL and his wife and SIL and BIL came down  and checked it out...  part of the reason also was for  DH and  SIL to spread their moms Ashes.

We have gotten a few really nice summer squash, the tomatoes are just starting to come on now... I picked on batch of beets and pickled them.. I have another    mess ready to pick now... our  cantaloupe are growing well and we can hardly wait for them to ripen..mmmm   the  cabbage is doing well we will probably have one of them this week sometime.   Everything is running several weeks late here because of the cool start we had this summer...  

My little pullets are growing well and whatever was  killing the chickes has either moved on or been blocked out of the house... I am hoping they start laying soon so we will have eggs during the winter...

I havent done alot of spinning lately but then that is kind of a winter time activity.. but my creative juices are starting to flow and I find myself wanting to get the loom set up to do some weaving...maybe some dish towels since I have  the materials to make them... I really wish I had acess to a 8 harness loom there is a type of weaving I would really like to try.. it called huck lace and its woven right into the fabric,  maybe I can rent a loom for a    short time and give it a try...

My first project for the rest of the summer is to get myself healed up and get this house somewhat decluttered... well thats all I can think of for now... have a great day..

Next you can help me figure out weaving. I need to do something with this yarn besides knitting and crocheting. You got me into this mess....;o)
