At what point do you say no more...

This post is about Molly,  I have posted about her on a few occsions...a couple of weeks ago she got very sick... I took her to the vet and she was kept over and  sent home with antibiotics.. she improved.. so much so that I saw the personality I had not seen in quite some time... two days after the pills were gone she was down again... the vet feels its a liver infection of some kind.... so she is on antibiotics again,  this time she is  having a hard time staying on her feet...but today again she is better... meeting me when I get home, eating, and bringing her ball to me to throw, even though when she tries to run she falls... her back hip just dont seem to have any strength, she is incontinent, its to cold for her to stay outside, and she is upset to be locked in the laundry room......I have had Molly for about 14 -15 years..she has been a good friend, companion and guardian,

I just hope and pray that this round will kick whatever it is, but sitting here tonight I am thinking...  what if  it doesnt work..at what point do you say good bye to an old friend and let her go...

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I had a similar situation with my horse a long time ago. He was sick for 3 or 4 months, right on the edge... will he get better or should i just say goodbye? It was a really hard time, so I can really understand how you're feeling. I wish you the best, and hope she gets better!
