Time goes so fast.  Kristi is our baby. She is 17 years old and a senior in high school this year.  Kristi and Titus feel in love with each other 8 months ago.  Titus is one of the puppies from Alex and Gracies 1st litter.   These two have bonded so well, that he alway has to be with her and touching her.  We are training him to be a medical alert service dog.  Titus has never once had trouble training.  He does most of what needs done before we tell him.   Titus is only 8 months old.  He is a pure breed Golden.   It is funny I tease her that she has a giant dust bunny chasing her.

Does it ever end ???

Do you have days where it seems like it never ends ??  Or days when you ask when do I get a break ??    Well today was one of those for me.

I went to my weekly acupuncture treatment and Annie (acupuncturist) was upset with me.  She said my pulse was low and I have no energy.  I told her it is because I had another allergic reaction , but it was not a hospital visit one.  Annie said it took to much out of me.  She is right it did.  I get home eat a bowl of cereal and go to take a nap.  Shayna come sin my room yelling that one of the horses broke one of the water pipes and that Pony is down.  Ugh, call me to let me know if Pony is sleeping or sick.

Of course he is colicing!!!  I get up and Kristi and I run over to our ranch (less than a mile away).  I get there Shayna is walking Pony. I back up to my trailer and get ready to hitch it.  I go to the back and open it.  Shayna tells me we have to put pony on the right side because she was using the trailer for storage!!!  I got mad.  I told her to get it all out he is going on the left side so I can see and hear him.  When hubby and I last used the trailer yet again it was for Pony and his colicing!!, we left it ready for use just in case of emergency, like today.  Shayna was yelling and cussing at me because I made her take our her stuff..

Kristi and I got Pony in and drove him over to the vet.  The vet thinks he should be fine and that Pony can work it out with the help of some medicine, because while we were there Pony started trying to eat his grass!!  We last checked on him about an hour ago and gave him another pain shot. Shayna will check on him before she comes home from her boyfriends sisters house.  They live next to our ranch.

What made me smile is when we got to the vets he asked me when "she" is due ??.  I said excuse me ??  The vet said when is the mare due ??  I laughed and said "he" is doing better because he was expecting triplets and now with a diet I have "him" down to expecting twins!!!  Pony is not out of the woods yet any prayer would be great.

I received this in an e-mail.  This stuff can kill your furry babbies!

Over the weekend the doting owner of two young lab mixes purchased Cocoa Mulch from Target to use in their garden. They loved the way it smelled and it was advertised to keep cats away from their garden. Their dog Calypso decided that the mulch smelled good enough to eat and devoured a large helping. She vomited a few times which was typical when she eats something new but wasn't acting lethargic in any way. The next day, Mom woke up and took Calypso out for her morning walk . Half way through the walk, she had a seizure and died instantly.
 
   Although the mulch had NO warnings printed on the label, upon further investigation on the company's website, this product is HIGHLY toxic to dogs and cats.
 
   Cocoa Mulch is manufactured by Hershey's, and they claim that 'It is true that studies have shown that 50% of the dogs that eat Cocoa Mulch can suffer physical harm to a variety of degrees (depending on each individual dog). However, 98% of all dogs won't eat it.'

   Cocoa Mulch, which is sold by Home Depot, Foreman's Garden Supply and other Garden supply stores, contains a lethal ingredient called ' Theobromine' . It is lethal to dogs and cats.

Piggly For Sale

The people (from our church) who bought Piggly are not able to pay for the feed they owe us it is over $200.00, we have feed Piggly for 5 months, almost 6.   We understand that at things happen and we are not mad.  But this does put us in a pickle.  We now have to find a buyer for 1/2 of him or just sell him whole.  We do not have the room for two whole pig in our freezers.  Nor do we want to spend a thousand dollars for the feeding of two pigs and for the cut and wrap for them.

This is the last time we are going to offer a feed animal to anyone.  Not to be rude or mean it is just that we do not need to get stuck with this again.  Times are hard for everyone but we still need to be responsible for our actions.

Day off for Piggley

Piggley Wiggley 1, us 0

When hubby got home from work he fixed the jr pig pen to put Piggley Wiggley in.  While he worked on it  I feed the zoo.  Alex one of our goldens just ran and had fun.

So when hubby was done I went into the second stall of the barn that has the 9 ducks in it.  I had to hunch over to get in the back of the stall ,I put a short roof on it, why did I??   Ok so I get Piggley into the stall ans out the door.   I tell Alex to take Piggley to daddy, again WHY??  Alex started doing it , good boy, but then Piggley started running.  Alex was like oh boy a new game, chase the Piggley, ugh.  Hubby and I had to stop Alex and then tie him up.

So hubby and I started trying to more Piggley into a different pasture where his new house is.  Piggley said nope and broke back in with his ducks.  Got he out again we spent 25 minutes trying to get Piggley in his new bedroom, no luck.   So we opened stall 1 and watched him walk in like he owns it.  We shut the door and watch , that sneaky Piggley wen right through the hole he made into the duck pen!!!

So we have Piggley 1 , us 0.   Tomorrow we will add the girls to help move the pain.  

I love to raise our own piglets from our sows, they know us and learn to listen.  Our favorite one is "Go to your room" and they do.  Buying these little pain's is good for us we get a lot of exercise !!

Piggley Wiggley, goes quack quack

We did not breed our sow for piglets because she is getting older, she will be 6 or 7 years old.   So we bought 2 pigs from our adopted daughter bio mom.  She brought the pig a few weeks ago and we have to get the other one this week coming up.  We put Piggly Wiggley  in the barn so he would be close to the other animals .  We have a jr hog pen for market hog but we will not move him until we pick up his sister.

Back to my story.  EVERY DAY we go to feed and Piggley Wiggley is some how in the duck pen.  We have fixed and fixed the fence  between them , but does it work , NO!!  Piggley Wiggley love to move the ducks around  their pen.  I wonder if he is part herder dog? 

I have given up on moving him back into his stall in the barn, until his sister comes over in a few days.   So Piggley Wiggley will go quack quack for a few more days.

Puppies are here

The puppies are here !!  Gracie started having them about 7:30 this morning.  She had 2 girls and then she stopped for a while.  She then had a boy and another girl, we thought she was done, then she had another boy.   Kristi and I and Shayna all thought she was done we went to take a nap.  We woke up to another boy and girl. !!!

We are so happy she had 7 puppies. There are 3 families in our church who are hoping that these puppies can help with with their special needs children.  Gracie (mom) is a service dog and so is Alex (dad).  We have hopes that we can get 3 service dogs out of this litter.   Time will tell.

Michelle dropped the babies off this morning for us to babysit while she went to the Dr.   When she came back she said she wants one of the puppies (there was 2 at that time).  I told her no.  That she goes threw dogs like kleenexs!  I already gave Jeffie on of my golden puppies right before Jeffie was born.  Last year she gave the dog away.  She has gone threw 4 other dogs since then!!.
