I am heart broken

I am very heart broken. So is my hubby and babies.

To most people a Dr. is someone you see once in awhile or wait a few weeks for a visit, someone who does not listen to you all the way.

But to us our family Dr. is family.  We see him 2 times a week for the past 2 + years.  Before that it was once a week.  If I was sick or if my babies were sick I would just call his private number and walk right in.  With all Michelle health problems, mu husband's eye tumors, Kristi's asthma and pneumonia and not growing . 

For me: he found out that I am not crazzzy or just imagining my hives.  I had verrrrry bad allergies to everything he found out.  It was about 5 other Dr's who thought the other.  My Dr. saved my life. I loved his calls to just check on me.

For my hubby: , he got his tumor removed the best that they could and stayed on top of it, and still does.

For my baby: He made her grow.  She was 12 years old and not even 60 lbs , still in car seat and wore size 4t to 6 in toddles panties. He put her on a special diet and she grew.  He found out how bad her asthma is and how to treat it, that she needs medicine for a very large man a 250 lb man,  that she gets pneumonia very easy. He made sure he was always on top of her health and checks her breathing every visit. He would watch her when she was very ill and should be in the hospital, but he would not put her in because she freaked out bad, so he was on her all the time, calling me seeing her daily. He saved her life and kept her alive. 

For Michelle: he was on top of her asthma ,all her broken bones, her brain injury, her pregnancy.

For all us: he  would talk to the kids  about life, college , boys, sex. He loves to pick on them and when they pick on him.  He would be hard on me when I needed it and be as soft when I needed it.  Told me it will all be all right and he made sure it was all right.  How he hugged the baby when she lost her beloved animals , or when she was so scared.   

For middle daughter: just the talking he did with her. Over some serious subjects.  They talked about her art, schooling, books they have read, no sex and to not take after Michelle.  He took care of her when her foot was crushed by a horse.  Shayna has not been sick.  It is rare when she is sick.

We found out today he is moving on.  We knew it was coming, but it is still heart breaking for us.  He has been a friend, a Dr., a family member for almost 10 years.  It is so hard to see him go, but this is what he wants and what is best for him. He even worked when he had cancer , he still took care of us. He says's we will keep in touch and believe me we will.  He is an amazing , caring man  and I will miss seeing him every week.

I totally understand! Our Dr.'s can become like family because they are there through the worst of times. My prayers are with you!

Oh, I am so sorry to hear he is moving on. I can understand getting close to the doctor like that and it is hard moving on to another doctor after being so comfortable and close to this one.
