An update on my father, he wants me to lie for him !!

I have wrote about my father before, but this one takes the cake.  He called me the other day early in the morning, most people know not to call early or your head will roll( more so now with my not sleeping much again ).  So he calls and tells me he wants me to lie for him.  I ask him what and why.  Well, it seems to be he wrote tooo many bad checks and there is a warrant out for his arrest.   He said he needs me to tell the attorney general that he has been living here for the past year because he was / is sick and that is a bold face lie!!   I can not lie and will not lie. I can say that he was here for a bit (because he was) and that he is sick, because he is (he has hepatitis C).  But, that is all I can and will say.

Why would a soon to be 62 year old man want his child to lie like that for him?  He is old enough to know if there is no money in the bank there are no checks you can write.  I tell you, this man was a millionaire but spent his money on drugs.   He made his choices in life.  He needs to live with his choices.  I have not been able to get a hold of him for a few days, I wonder if he was arrested?  Time will tell, but I will stand my ground.

My mom and dad (step-dad, but real to me) did not understand it when I told them.  Because, they do not understand why he would ask me to do that.

Follow your convictions on this one dear. It is not right to lie like this for anyone, including your father. I understand you should love and respect him, but this is crazy.

I hope you boldly told him dad, I love you, but I won't cover for you. You made a mistake and you are going to have to clean it up yourself.

I will be praying for you, and your father. It sounds like not only is he having financial problems, but he is making bad judgments!

Wow...I will be praying for you...you were definately right and not lie for your father...stand your ground and God will give you strength.

You are also right about the consequences of choices...this is a lesson for all of us....that our choices will dicate our future and it always comes back to "bite" us.

Keep praying for him, sister. I gave up praying for my brother, and my dear Lord pulled him out of the mire and put his feet on a rock in spite of my lack of prayer. Trust the Lord to do with him what you'd like to see happen - it is likely His will also.

As for the fox on my blog... this is the first time we've seen it. I think he might be the culprit that got one of the birds that come to visit my feeders though! Stinker! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
