Christmas and Prayer needed BAD

How was everyones Christmas?  Mine was great. We had the grand babies over for Christmas morning, where else would they be , as for they live here, but Michelle was over too (their mom).  It was such a blessing to share that morning with the babies.  My parents came over for dinner it was just a blessed day all around. 

But 2 days after Christmas, was/is just verrry bad. 

Ok, here we go........ Michelle was off work for a few days so we sent the babies home with her, so we girls can spend some time alone with dad and just us girls.  We girls decided to go to our favorite creek and clean it out from the rain storms and maybe bring home crawdad for our lonely crawdad.  The day started out nice we cleaned up some areas went to go clean this other area and I broke my leg! . I did a good job I did not just break my leg, I broke my foot and ankle also. I look down at my foot and hey it is not made to go that way! My foot was side ways.  My girls call 911 and daddy, a person who lived by the creek also called, help yeah a good thing.  They come and look at my leg and ask if I am allergic to morphine? Here I am thinking boy I must have done a REAL good job.  I say no they start an i.v. and give me medicine. They start to get my foot ready to be moved as well as the rest of me.   I can tell by their looks it was bad, so I asked if the bone was showing , they said no.  I was of to the hospital. They took me to one that was further way than I wanted, I told them where my normal hospital is , they said sorry but they were taking me here due to a special bone surgeon.

I get there and oh boy it was packed. They er Dr tried to set my foot after seeing the x' rays, but then said after that I will have to have surgery!  I was sooo scared. You see I am to have surgery because of my damaged lungs, I have a good chance of not making it through it. I told them again of why I can not have surgery. I was told I have no choice.  Hubby , the girls and I were so scared. 

The next morning they come to get me for surgery, I made them wait until hubby and the babies were there, So I could say good by and tell them how much I love them just in case.  Hubby and I and the sleepy Dr went over it all before I went in.  Next thing I know they are waking me up.  When I was wake they told me what a good job I did..  I broke my leg, foot and ankle.  I had 2 pins, 2 plates and 8 screws installed.  I splintered some of my bone beside breaking it.  I have on a nice heavy cast over 15lbs with the foot set at an angle.  I will be in this cast until the 14 th and then I get a new one for ten weeks, then I will be in therapy for 3-5 months.  Yup , I did good job.  My leg hurts, because of course the boo-boo, but also the way my leg is set.

What I have seen and learned....

God. God was there. I felt him. He took away so much of my pain and fear and left me with his peace.  I do not handle pain well at all.  As I laid down waiting for the help to come I had pain, but also peace , the same in the ambulance, and at the hospital. I felt his peace before surgery, I was scared but, not scared to death.  I felt God and his peace.    Hubby also saw and felt God and his peace.  God had his hand on the whole mater and still does.  It was strange here I am hurt in pain scared and yet here I am and my hubby and girls blessing God and telling him thank you.  Some people do not understand that, but I do now. 

I feel bad for my family as for they have to do it all. I can only rest and go to the potty.  My hubby said he never knew I did so much.  We are so thankful for our babies. They have stepped up to the plate and more.

Baby bear 17 yrs old brought my dog Hope in the hospital to see me , just to make me feel better(hope is the one in the picture of me spot). She also went out and bought me 4 tadpoles and a crab to make me feel better.  She is a blessing.

I will write as I am having a hard time with this all.

Oh my what an eventful day that was!!! I am glad it wasn't any worse than it was!! Sounds like you will have to take a break and let the family finally baby you for once huh? Praying for a quick healing.

Oh-I am so sorry to here about your leg. I am happy you found peace when you needed it most! I will pray for a quick recovery. Your in my prayers. I'll watch for an update.

Oh no, that's not good! I'm so sorry that you had to suffer such an injury. I'm glad to hear that you are on the mend now.

MJ, so sorry to hear of this. But I am pleased that it has turned out as well as you described it. God did indeed have His hand on you and yours. It is so good to look back through our pain and fear and see very plainly that we were never alone. I know you must be proud of your family for stepping in to help the way they are. Rest and get better. Time will fix it! HUGS!

Oh my goodness what you have been through! It brought tears to my eyes when you talked about bringing hubby and girls in before the surgery. I'm so glad it worked out and you came through. I know it's hard to not be able to do your normal stuff. I had the tendons in my left hand severed a few years ago and it was such a trying time. But it's just another trial of life ~ you'll get to the other side of it before you know.

My goodness, what a sad time this is for you and your family. I will definitely pray. By the way, I used the recipe for bread sticks yesterday to go with our lasagna. Absolutely wonderful. Have not seen my boys go after bread sticks like that in a long time. They generally will eat 1 but they were coming back to the kitchen long after supper looking for them .... It was cute. Plus it made so many that I have extras that I froze for later. Thanks for sharing.
