Up date and $400.+ of food for $224.19

Well my father said he was sorry for being rude to me, but no money yet.   He said he will repay us.  We will see.  I am letting it go at this time.  I want to enjoy Christmas with my family.  Michelle our daughter has messed us up with our plans.  We told her we could not have the babies Friday as we had dad/ my hubby's work Christmas dinner.  We told her over a week ago.  So guess what she did ? Any one? She drove to Pismo 4 hours away to get her on and off again boy friend. The one who told her he can't stand her f***ing kids, and shook Jeffie's face hard in the store.  Yep a winner.   So we had no choice but to take the babies with us to the dinner.  The nice part was our girls were baby sitting at the dinner in a hotel room for a friend of ours, so it worked out all the kids played.  And the girls charged Michelle for watching the kids!   Michelle has no respect for us.

Ok to some thing better, my money saved at the market.  I did real good.  I spent $224.19 at the end , but my start price was over $400.00.  Here is how I did it.  I take other markets ad to Walmart and they price match and then I look for coupons to match the ads. Here is some of my good deals:

Del Monte veggies 12 cans for $5.00 with a $1.00 coupon , reg price is .89 - .99 a can each.

cool whip 4 for .97 each , reg 1.50 , had $1.00 coupon off.

dried onions 4 cans at $1.62, but had coupons for $1.75 off.

2 eight lb bags of potatoes for .99 for both, reg $4.99 each.

3 bags dog cookies for 5.79. but had coupons for $3.00 off.

mom soda 4 cases for $11.00 reg $12.00.

Dads soda $2.66 each bought 5 got 1 free.

16 boxes hamburger helper for .97 each, on sale for $1.50 each.

pediasure bars $2.69, but had a coupon for $2.00 off.

4 five lb bags of flour .99 cents each , on sale for $1.50 each.

2 bags celery at .33 cents each, reg .88 each.

4  one lb bags of carrots for .99 cents for all 4, reg .66 cents each.

6 tino pizza rolls at .97 each, reg $1.22 each.

1  fourteen lb butterball turkey for .79 cents a lb, reg $1.01 a lb, plus I had a coupon for $2.00 off.

8 cans Swanson broth  at 2 for .99 cents, reg .72 cents each and I had $1.50 off.

frozen dinner rolls 2 bags at reg price of $2.64, but had 2 $1.00 off coupons.

8 rolls of grand biscuits at .99 cents each, reg $1.69 each plus I had coupons for $2.60 off.

2 grand cin rolls at 2 for $4.00, reg $2.89  and had a $1.00 off coupon..

I also bought , cat food, dog food, a hair brush, pony tail's, cat litter, cornstarch, tp, kitchen scrubbers, salt, cheezits, cranberries , pretzels, pies,chips, pocky, yams  and ???

I know have an over stocked pantry.  I have 3 freezers full of food.  I should have enough food for our family for 6-8 months.  Except for milk, butter, soda, cereal, and some meat.  I do need to buy some hamburger for all the hamburger helpers we bought as well as my wheat free foods here and there.  We will be send off one of the pigs to the butchers in the next few weeks. So we will have plenty of pork.   Eggs I need eggs!  My birds quit laying!  I feed them 200 pounds of chicken feed a week and no eggs.  In the spring, summer, fall we have so many we give them away, now I have to buy them.

Your life sounds like the life that I come from. I mean the struggles with your daughter and father. I'm so sorry for the difficulties that you are facing in decisions on how to help them. If I can give you any advice, it would be to listen to the lead of the Holy Spirit. He will guide you right. You will not have to worry about your choices if you know God is guiding you. I will pray for you. I am glad that you did not turn your back on your grandchildren. They need you when you dd is not making choices with them in mind. I will pray for both your father and your daughter to turn thier lives over to God. I also pray that your dd will start thinking of her children before she ends up losing them.

eggs - I have frozen mine. you need to break them and LIGHTLY mix, no not even mix, just SWIRL the yolks into the whites. Then pour them into ice cube trays. I keep track to see how many eggs it takes to fill it up. I use the covered Tupperware trays and get two cubes per egg, so when a recipe calls for 2 eggs, I defrost 4 cubes. these frozen eggs work well for baking etc, but not so good for scrambled or fried. even if you still had to buy eggs in the winter for frying/boiling, it would still save you money if you could store those eggs from the summer.

I agree with what others have said re: your father. YOUR FAMILY FIRST. when you have taken care of your needs, THEN help him with food vouchers or lodging vouchers or something. But do not give him money again. honoring your father is NOT defined by enabling him or ruining your family. pray for him, pray for you.

re: your daughter and her children and her boyfriend. Can you get custody of those kids? you know what the statistics are for kids in that situation? it is not good:
"Children living in homes with unrelated adults are nearly fifty times as likely to die of inflicted injuries as are children living with their bio-parents. (Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics, 2005). Children of single parents had a 77% greater risk of being harmed by physical abuse than children living with both parents (National Incidence Study, 1996). Children living in stepfamilies, or with single parents are at higher risk of physical or sexual assault than children living with their bio-parents (University of New Hampshire’s Crimes Against Children Research Center). especially since the boyfriend has already hurt the kids and expressed such language to/around them.
My grandparents took responsibility for their children, and for my one aunt's children. Only instead of taking the kids in and taking them away from "mom", they allowed her to live in various houses they owned, gave her money for food, etc; when the youngest was grown, they stopped enabling the daughter. Unfortunately, what my cousins learned was "grandpa and grandma will take care of me no matter what" so now THEY are trying to leach of my grandparents instead of depending on themselves. I think that if they had had custody of my cousins, my cousins would have had a stable home life in a permanent place, not a new house and school every year. they may have still turned into bums, but at least they would have started with a firm foundation. Your daughter will hate you, but your grandkids will not be killed by a boyfriend or abused like your daughter (I realize that was her own dad). And you can make plans ahead of time for babysitters and clothing, etc.
