Lasagna in a crock pot
You can make lasagna in a slow cooker. This would make the house smell wonderful for when hubby comes home from work on a cold winter night or you can even make it when it is hot out and you do not want to heat up the house.
1 lb lean ground beef
1 can diced tomatoes
1 medium onion
1 cup sliced mushrooms (opt)
minced garlic to taste 1 clove to 3 tablespoons
9 no-boil lasagna noodles
1 jar spaghetti sauce
2 cups fat-free cottage cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 grated Parmesan cheese
in a large fry pan cook beef, tomatoes, onion, mushrooms, garlic until beef is no longer pink.
spray crock pot with Pam spray, place 3 noodles side by side on the bottom of the cooker.
top with 1/3 cup spaghetti sauce, 1/3 cup beef mixture ans 1/3 mozzarella cheese.
repeat the layering 2 more times ending with mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with Parmesan on top.
cover an cook on low for 5 to 6 hours or until hot and cheese is melted.
Serve with a salad and home made rolls with butter garlic and cheese.
I can't wait to make this for hubby and the girls!
Enjoy
