We went to day to pick up april and cody. They both got in trailer good and we drove them 3 miles to our farm. When we got there we found out that the old owner did not tie up the horses (he loaded them up) and to find out april slipped and cut her leg (not to bad) and she chipped her hoof. We picked up the baby' ( 14yr) friend and they spent  so much time on april brushing her , getting the caked on mud off of her, untangleing the 2 foot long knot in her mane, taking  the 2 inch thick mud off the outside of her hoofs. We are going to share april with my baby's best friend ( the one whos dad died). My other daughter took care of cody, he also had caked on mud , 2 inch thick mud on his on hoofs , cody is much better shape his weight is good . We have some coming out next week to float the teeth on all 5 horses, so every one can be on the same time line. We had to move our other horse to the round pen because there is to much green clover growing in the round pen for april and cody  they acted like they have not seen fresh plants in a long time. So april and cody are in the 1/2 acre pen

untill we can get them treated and everyone gets a long , then they can all run on the 3 acres.

April needs to put on so much weight , we will have to feed her away from the the other horses once they all run as God made them to. We believe that horse are made to run and graze all day , not be locked up in a small pen. I will be taking pictures of april and cody , the new baby pigs , and the new ugly turkins. I will post pictures of them all soon, I will have to have the film put on cd  then post them.God Bless, mj

Good for you, rescuing animals! I've found Underwood's horse medicine to be wonderful in treating wounds. Mr. Underwood is in Oklahoma and has been making up his liquid wound care for decades. A google search should turn up his contact information. No affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

to share your lives with the wounded and afflicted. Give them lots of love and they will be back to normal with your care. I don't understand why people mistreat animals. if they aren't going to care for them, why get them. I know a man who says if your cattle run to meet you when they are being feed ,you are feeding them to much! I cannot imagine feeling that way. Please post pictures soon.
