Here I go

I saw this on a bloog and thought it is a great idea, so here I go:  Here is the link for the questions:

Give some general info about your family: # of kids and ages (if you feel comfortable giving that info out), # of years as a SAHM, does your husband work at home or outside the home?   We have 3 children 21 yrs( married out of the house), 17 yrs , 15 yrs all girls. We also have 2 grand babies from Michelle the 21 yr old , Jeffie will be 3 next month and Maddie will be 2 in April.  I have been a stay at home mom for most of the time. I did work for almost a year as a teacher when Michelle was young. My hubby does work outside our home. He is a environmental operations manager and puts in less hours than he used to when he was a environmental driller, and we love it!!

  Do you work in or outside of the home? If so, how many hours per week and what is your schedule like?   Yes, I do work outside the home. We( the girls and I) care for about 175 animals a day! I would love to get paid for it!  Some days we spend an hour or two if we are lucky, but some days we spend 4+ hours.

- What helps you get through your week? Do you use a planner or "to-do" list? Are you organized or do you fly by the seat of your pants?  A bit of them all, but boy I sure do fly by the seat of my pants a lot. I am trying to learn to use and make  a planner . Me organized? It is more like where did I put that?? Ok, who moved it??! Or the one I really love I put it away safe! , reallllly I did, and it will never be found until a year after we need it.

 Do your children help around the house? chores? cooking? If they don't do much, do you wish they did more?  Yes, the girls help! I was brought up to have other people do it ALL for me. So I want my girls prepared for the real world when they get married and move out. That means they can do wash , dishes, cook , clean, care for children and family, not to wait for someone else to do it for them. I wish their rooms did not look like a disaster hit.

 What do you want to do better? What area of your life is a stumbling block for you? Would you like prayer for a specific thing this week?   To get up early at least  by 8:30 am and to unpack , to unclutter and not yell as much.  I guess that the above is a stumbling block. A prayer request would be for the same all the above.

That was my fear when I began to homeschool the kids and realized that I had been doing 100% of the homekeeping. I didnt want my kids leaving my house to go into their own homes un prepared, how unfair to their future spouses. I enjoyed your post and I look forward to getting to know you better via Above Rubies Monday meme.

I can so relate to your animals. Your answers and mine are a LOT a like. I don't have a count our our animals right now but a lot.
