Marketing today I saved over $60.00 on a $77.?? trip

Today I went to vons I spent $13.81 on $77.?? worth of food.

Here is my list of items I bought:

Soda 3 , 12 packs @ $5.49 each  total $16.47 cost me $10.98 Plus we are charged a .60 fee for every case bought so add $1.80.

Salsa 2 for $7.38 cost me $5.00

Cooking oil at $5.19 cost me $4.00

Zip bags 2 for $4.38 cost me $4.00

Ice cream 2 for $6.49 my cost the same $6.49

Bananas 2.5 lbs cost me $1.15

Cucumbers 2 for 1.58 each cost me $1.98 ( for animals)

Green leaf lettuce cost me $1.29 (for animals)

Eggplant 2 at $1.49 lb cost me $3.17 (for animals)

Carrots 2 , 2lb bags at $1.29 each cost me $2.58 ( for animals)

Salad blend bag 2 for $6.98 cost me $5.00 ( for us people)

Small taste of home cooking magazine coat me $4.99

This all added up to over $77.00. But then I used my vons club card and saved 40% it took off $28.34.

A balance left of $53.ish

Then I had a coupon for $10.00 of any order over $50.00

A balance left of $43.ish

Them I had 2 gift cars from my pharmacy for $30.00.

A balance left of 13.81.

My tax for the trip was $1.38.

Not bad at the end.

People say we can save more money if we did not drink soda , that is very true BUT, I have drank soda everyday of my life from my early teens, but I must say I now drink 2-3 cans a day instead of 6-8. I used to live on this stuff. I do save our cans and water bottles and get anywhere from $40.00 a month back to $50.00 back.

There are ways we can save money if we look to find them. My pharmacy gives me $5.00 a month in gift card form for filling my medicine. I received a coupon in the mail from the pharmacy in the mail that if I brought in a new medicine for them to fill they would give me a $25.00 gift card. I only get my medicine filled at vons as for I have had the same person for 22 yrs, I do not want to go any other place. It is nice when some one knows your whole history and your families with out telling them each time you have one filled.

You know I think we all have our vise. You like soda and most of us will admit that we like coffee lol. So it's just a matter of preference. I know if times got hard enough I could sacrifice those types of things but until then I'm not gonna lol.
