MY GOALS , MENU AND NEW ONLINE STORE

{ 10:46, 2007-Jan-15 } { 2 comments } { Link }

This year there are a few goals I need to work on.

1. is to save money on food. Have you seen the cost of food? every thing is going up. I have a bad habit of picking up fast food when I do not want to cook, about 1 time a week, different than our Friday usual. Or some times I will buy meat we already have, just because I do not defrost it in time for dinner.

So my goal is to make a menu and stick as close to it as I can. I might change the days around, but I do not want to go buy fast food.

2. is to buy things only as needed.  We have a habit of just buying it if we have the money too or some times even if we do not. Us girls have done good so far this year. When we needed some new clothes for church and stuff we went shopping at the thrift store and shopped at an 80 % off sale at Kohl's. We paid  $7.40 for skirts that were $30.00 , I bought my grandson a outfit of jeans and a shirt for $2.00. Some items were not at 80% but at 70% off.  They the store gave us 20% off our order too.

3. I am opening a online store that will have great household items, home decor items, toys and such. to help to be able to buy our ranch. I will be also have sales reps like tupperware and such to have parties and catalog sales and I will be able to do fund raising with a good % going to the place that is having the fund raiser. I am in the process of getting all of the legal work done.

My fear is that if we can not buy the land that we might be asked to move so he can sell it to some one else. If that happens I can not afford to board 150 animals. 90% of our animals are rescue. God keeps giving us more animals to save. I think that he gives them to us to save , then he will provide a way for us to buy the land. I prayed for months to find away to help my husband to pay for the land to keep saving his animals.  I thought of this online store and prayed about it long and hard , and one day he gave me the go ahead.

4. is to be a better wife and mom. That helps us all out.

My menu for this week is

Tue:

morning: cereal and toast.

Lunch for us girls: turkey or ham sandwiches

lunch for daddy : left over t-bone steak , potatoes, corn.

dinner: beef stew, bread.

Wed:

Morin: cereal for us girls.

Lunch girls: turkey or ham sandwich

Lunch daddy: left over beef stew and bread

dinner: steak sauce over rice, green beans, bread.

Thur:

Morin: cereal for us girls

Lunch : left over steak sauce or sandwiches for us girls

Lunch : left over steak sauce and bread for daddy

Dinner: a baked whole chicken, wild rice, veggies, bread

Friday:

Morin: fruit on the way to Friday school.

Lunch : hot dogs and french fries fast food for us girls. we always get that on the way home from school and feeding. An old habit.

Lunch for daddy is what ever he wants, left overs , sandwich, ???? or subway by his shop.

dinner: chicken pot pie homemade, with rolls.

Sat:

brunch: french toast, eggs.

dinner: pork roast, potatoes, veggies, bread.

Sun:

lunch: snack at the church or pick up some thing .

Dinner: tacos with the left over meat from the pork roast, Spanish rice.

Then for the Monday what else I will make from the left over roast is to be seen.

We picked up our half of mr.moo we got 255 lbs of meat from him. His total meat was 550lbs. He was 18 months old and was soooo small. The only other part we kept is his hide the baby is having it made in to a blanket for her.

I was going to try to tan the hide our self but we decided to have it done right.

I will show pictures of before and after of the hide later on when we pick it up in about 2 weeks.

God Bless, mj

Your Goals

{ 07:29, 2007-Jan-16 } { Posted by OklahomaJamie }
Your goals sound very good. I know what you mean about eating out, and impulse buying, etc. If we actually sat down and figured out how much we spent a month on impulse, and un-needed stuff, I'll be we'd be shocked. I loved the comment about buying meat so you wouldn't have to thaw yours (I've been guilty of that). I'd love a side of beef or pork to fill our freezer!! Best of blessings with your goals and menus. I'm glad my chore list gave you some help!!

Hey, we are doing much of the same this year. I am focusing on getting a reading list accomplished for the year, instead of a shopping list. LOL!

Where are you?
