A Sad Day Cheyenne Went Home With Jesus

On 12-06-06 one of our loving dogs had to be put down.

Cheyenne was our 10 almost 11 year old golden we have had since she was 6 weeks old. Cheyenne was sick last week Thursday we went to give her , her afternoon snack and she could not move. We were able to pick her up and bring her in the house. We took her to the Dr's the next day  and she walked out of the house to my truck and then walked into the Dr's office he looked at her did his exam and he said it might be bone cancer, he put her on a pain pill that takes away swelling to see what it would do for the weekend and hopefully it took away some of the swelling so he could she her arm better Monday. All weekend she got up to go potty then laid down in front of the fire she was ok on monday when we took her daughter to see what was going on with her , (well her daughter is fine she just eats tooooo much!!!) the Dr asked how Cheyenne was I told him she was still swollen he told me to give her more time for the medicine to kick in. By Monday night the swelling was worse, I called him Tuesday Morin to bring her in. Before we got her in a bubble on her swollen arm/ shoulder had burst and was leaking fluid, we got her to the Dr and he said we both know it is time for her to go home. As verrrry hard as it was to do he was right, I held Cheyenne's head in my hands while she went to see Jesus. We have had Cheyenne since she was 6 weeks old, she has blessed so many families with good , strong , smart puppies she will live on in her children and grandchildren. I have 1 of her children (the picture in my profile) and we have 1 of her grandchildren, my parents have 2 of her children. Her husband is lonely ( they had to be married to have puppies) the 1 dog that is having a verrry hard time is her son our wolf. Cheyenne stole Arthur from Nanook our female wolf when he was 3 days old he is the son of her heart, the wolf is soo sad he cries for his mom and looks for her. Cheyenne chose to stay with the wolf in her run instead of being a part of the rest of the pack.  Cheyenne and Marty(her hubby) have supplied a few service dogs to help people. Cheyenne will live on in her family.

We miss her verry much , she is a great dog who brought sooo much love to many.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet Cheyenne! It's so extremely hard when we lose our furry friends, as they become so much a part of the family. Sending lots of prayers your way as you deal with her loss.

I am so sorry about the poor doggy. I used to wonder why people got worked up about pets, but now I have my own furry baby and I finally understand.

Spend a little time giving those sad pups some extra love and maybe it will help you as well!
