Wheat free and In love

I am verrry allergic to wheat ( we are talking death). There are sooo many other things I am also allergic too. I miss so many things like pizza , doughnuts, and macaroni and cheese. I do make a lot food that is wheat free bread items and they are great but the smell of the real thing. But guess what I had macaroni and cheese last night. Yep the real thing minus the wheat. I found annie's homegrown totaly natural gulten-free rice pasta & cheddar macaroni and cheese, made with gulten free and wheat free rice pasta elbows & real-aged cheddar.

It cost about $2.50 a box. I am in love with it, the only problem is I am allergic to rice! , just not as bad as wheat. I have other noodles to use , I just need to find powdered cheese, I can only have a tiny bit of real cheese once a week.  It is a good find , I just wish I could have more. My youngest daughter is also allergic to wheat and loves it also.

I am writing a wheat free cook book and have had people love the items even more than real wheat items. One year at our local fair I entered my wheat free potato bread against real wheat bread and I won. But I still crave the real thing when I cook it for hubby and 1 daughter, the smell brings back the taste.  To eat mac and cheese again, happy and happy.

It has been 6+ years since I last tried a bit of mac & cheese, then it was not worth the hospital trip. With annies I had no problem last night eating 1/3 cup and a few bites today. I am so happy just had to share. God Bless, m.j.

Those allergies can get rough. I have a severe reaction to the wheat plant, but not after it is milled and made into flour. Good to see you back on the blog. HUGS!

I've missed your blog and am so glad that you're back.

Yes, I love just about anything from Annie's - love their salad dressings, particularly the Raspberry Vinegarette! [sp?] Glad you found something that works for you. Have you tried looking in a bulk foods store for the powered chees mix? They have that at one I shop at - but I'm in Ohio. :-)

About your church...I really am amazed that they seem to treat that lady like she did nothing. Are they afraid she'll hurt someone there if they don't? They need to get her professional help - Christian professional help. It's out there. Many pastors have duel degrees in pastoring and counceling.

However, I DO believe that I would leave that church. If you are concerned about your children "walking" (not sure what you mean by that - do you mean REALLY walking?) with others who are concidering leaving as well, then just start your own group. Frankly, if you've been hs-ing for 10+ years you are MORE than qualified to disciple others!!

OK...there's my 2 cents! :-)
