Trouble when it rains it poors

The fair last week was bad very bad. We got our pigs in last tues afternoon , we set up the pen , we washed them statred to shave them. The local school ffa stole our bowls , so when we went to feed our pigs we could not. We had to wait for the pigs to finish eating, then they looked for our bowls, they were found them we feed , the ffa teacher would not give us the hose to water our pigs, so she watered our pigs. we get to fair wed afternoon to feed ,water

and wash the pig again. My friend and and I went to work at the fair to help make blankets for the winners. ( I was sick monday when we were to work , I had a Dr's note, you are allowed to make up the time in the week of the fair, my friend and I were working for my girls) we get in the room we are told to arange the flower on the blanket and start glueing.

So we did, my daughter called and said the 4h leader and ffa teacher were yelling at them for the way we feed our pigs. I told her to get her sister and cousin to come in the room we were working in. While they were walking t5o the room both the leader and teacher come in upset we did what the other leader told us arrange the flowers , we said sorry we just did as we were told to. We got back to work , my daughters and neice come in , my daughter and I start talking about what they said quietly between us, the 4h leader interupted us by yelling and stating how we must feed our pigs ( they want them fed 2xs a day , we free feed our pigs , we refill the feeder every afternoon) then the ffa teacher started yelling on how my husband said we do not feed or water 2 days before the show to our swine 4h leader, I said that was not true, both the leader and teacher said it is, and that my family were lying. I asked that when this was all figured out if it was found that was not true would the say sorry, I was told no. I was yelled at my family called liers in front of my children and other 4h members , almost hit in the face by 1 leader. I told the girls we are leaving , ( I was not going to have my children around people that would not give me a chance to talk , nor to listen to them bad mouth thier parents)  we were done working for them, I was told by the 4h leader to get my animals off the fair grounds by 9pm. I called my husband and asked what to do , he told me to go get the trailer and meet him at the fair. Hubby called  the swine leader , the leader siad

he never said that my hubby told him that, but he was told it by another 4h members dad. So hubby got to fair the ffa teacher said the swine leader told her he never said that. Did we get a sorry, NO. We asked if it was all a missunderstanding can the girls still show, the ffa teacher would not talk to us about it. so we left the pigs after the person in charge of the swine show said they can show. so friday when we get to the grounds to get the pigs ready , our 4h leader came to mu hubby and I and said either we write sorry notes to all the leaders , or the girls are kicked out, I shook my head No while she was talking, We aske can we tell our side , at 1st it was a no , but then she listened, we told her if this about the way we feed our pigs lets talk ,if it was about the he said , she said then lets not. She listened we went to 4h swine leader and he said it was a misunderstanding but some did say we do feed that way, we told him if we feed that way why would we want our bowls to feed? The ever so nice ffa teacher , said she knows my hubby did not say that so the girls can show, and the swine show person said it was ok. After the show my girls ,neice and us parents and friend worked off more time for us as the ffa teacher would not count the 2 hours we put in. We found out after the fair who started the story that we do not feed or water our pigs 2 days before the show, my son found out it is a family who is the co-leader of the 4h. The one who losses to my daughter in showmanship. It is sad this boy started a rummor that caused so much trouble, made my family look bad , our girls who work so hard to breed and raise and care for the animals by them selfs , know look bad. even thought the truth was told , no one cares the damage is done. We want to keep in the 4h , but it is hard when you have leaders like this. We might start our own 4h. What kind of things are these 4h leaders and ffa teachers teaching? Other parents saw the way the ffa leader is to other children , some buyer backed out of the auction.

The grand sup champ steer sold for only $1.25 a pound. Last year it was $3.?? a pound.What are we to do? we do not want these rude people ruin thing worse for our girls, they want to show still, we have a fair in sept, the truth was found out but the damage is done.

p.s. I learned the sunday before this how we can controll our anger ( in church) , we can act and speak in anger , but it will get you know where. So I think god wanted me to hear that lesson and apply it. I did I did not speak in anger ( I was very hurt) I waited my turn to speak ( but never got to say much as the ffa teacher interupted every time I sopke) I never yelled or lost my cool. I wanted to set a good example for my girls and I did. they both liked how I handeled the problem. We got hate looks from the ffa teacher ( mainly the baby) but we just smiled at them and prayed for her. Thank you paster for that lesson I learned and so have my babbies.

Oh my dear! I am so sorry you had such a terrible experience at the fair. Keep your chin up-sometimes things happen that we didn't ask for, and it's not your fault it all took place. I am glad you were able to put your anger sermon into practice-especially that your children could observe your reaction and how to properly handle confrontations! Sounds to me like in the end, you won..
Sounds like your 4-H club could use some new leadership, tho!

Thank the Lord for bringing that sermon right when you had need of it. You all handled yourselves well- you should be holding your heads high. I agree with you that you might want to start your own 4H. But know this- even though you feel others opinions of you have been damaged by all this- God is in charge- He knows the truth and that is what matters most. Keep God in control, keep praying for these people who have hurt you (I've been told you can't hate someone that you're praying for! :o) ) and pray for God's will in the situation. I truly believe that God will work for His good and yours in this situation and you will be very blessed because you followed His way.

What a terrible situation! What a testimony you and your family were when you handled this ordeal in the way that you did! Isn't it amazing when God helps us not to react in the way we would like to? I'm so sorry about the situation you have found yourselves in. I'm sure there are people who may have doubted you briefly but often times people don't know what to say when the dust clears and they realize you really aren't that kind of family to do such things! Keep being yourselves and try not to hold grudges. :)
