President Obama said he "wrestles" with life issues such as embryonic stem-cell research and abortion. In his Stoplight® commentary, Stuart Shepard compares the president's recent statements to the media with what he has said to Planned Parenthood.

Judge Orders Morning-After Pill Be Made Available to Teen Girls
'This ruling jeopardizes girls' health and the ability of parents to care for their daughters' physical and emotional well-being.'
In the not-too-distant future, girls across the U.S. likely will be able to get the so-called morning-after pill without anyone's knowledge.
On Monday, U.S. District Judge Edward R. Korman ordered the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to make the morning-after pill available to 17-year-olds without a doctor's visit or prescription — and without parental consent. Korman also asked the FDA to consider making the drug — which is sold under the name Plan B — available to girls of all ages.
"This ruling jeopardizes girls' health and the ability of parents to care for their daughters' physical and emotional well-being," said Chris Gacek, senior fellow for regulatory affairs at the Family Research Council. "Judge Korman has accepted all of the claims of a political ideology promoting sexual license for teens."
Plan B refers to a series of pills taken within 72 hours of sexual intercourse with the intent of preventing pregnancy. The pills contain high concentrations of the hormones found in birth-control pills.
"There is a real danger that Plan B may be given to sexually abused women and minors, under coercion or without their consent," Gacek said. "The availability of Plan B over the counter also bypasses the routine medical care of sexually active girls and women, which is important to allow screening for other health conditions."
Wendy Wright, president of Concerned Women for America, said she's also worried.
“This ruling puts politics above women's health,” she told The Christian Post. “Minor girls need permission to go on a field trip, get a piercing, or in some states use a tanning booth. But now, by one judge's order, girls will be encouraged to rely on an ineffective drug without medical oversight or parental involvement."

When giving speeches for the Pregnancy Resource Center I would often include this in my speech:
Would you consider an abortion in the following four situations?
There's a preacher and wife who are very, very poor. They already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she is pregnant with the 15th. They are living in tremendous poverty. Considering their poverty, and the excessive world population, would you consider recommending she get an abortion?
The father is sick with sniffles, the mother has TB. They have four children. The first is blind, the second died, the third is deaf and the fourth has TB. She finds she is pregnant again. Given the extreme situation, would you consider recommending abortion?
A white man raped a 13 year old black girl and she got pregnant. If you were her parents, would you consider recommending abortion?
A teenage girl is pregnant. She's not married. Her fiancee' is not the father of the baby, and he is very upset. Would you consider abortion?
In the first cast, you have just killed John Wesley, one of the great evangelists in the 19th century. In the second case, you have killed Beethoven. In the third case, you have killed Ethel Waters, a well known black gospel singer, and if you said yes to the fourth case, you have just declared the murder of Jesus Christ!
Well how about this one?
Here is a Mom and Dad.They have one girl, 18mo. Old. Mom is pregnant again.Mom and Dad’s relationship has not been the greatest and Dad is not happy about the pregnancy. There’s a good chance that this child won’t even have a dad or a very good home.Should the child be aborted?Well, dad thought so.He forced mom to take a pill to abort the baby.Mom got very very sick and had terrible cramps.Surely, the pregnancy would end.But God had other plans. We don’t know why God places certain people in these circumstances, but He ultimately has a purpose. The pregnancy did not end and another baby girl was born into this family. The Dad did not stay with mom long and he left Mom with two baby girls to care for on her own. That is not the end of the story. This baby girl who should have been aborted grew up and married a preacher. She has been a godly example to many ladies and has raised three godly daughters of her own.She is not just some person that I read about in a book. She is a friend of mine and has been a great influence in my own life as well.God had a plan for her as He does for all of us!
Psalm 139
(A Paraphrase) Lord, you know me, you know all about me You know when I sit down or stand up and even each thought is known to thee.
When I go out or when I lay down, you know my way Even before I speak a word, you know what I’m going to say
You put a hedge around me and always hold my hand Your greatness is amazing and I just can’t understand
Your spirit is there wherever I go Whether heaven above or the earth below
If I fly as a bird or cross the wide sea, Still your hand holds and continues to guide me
The darkness and the night, they cannot hide me These are the same as light to thee.
You fashioned me and covered me inside of my mother’s womb You created me there with just enough room.
You alone could see me in that secret place You wove my parts together from my feet to my face.
From morning to night, I am always in your hand. You thoughts of me are more than the numbers of the sand.
I will forever praise you for the plan you have for me Not just here on earth, but for all eternity.

Former Kansas AG under fire for pro-life enthusiasm
Former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline and two of his associates are facing ethics charges.
StarTribune.com reports Kline received national attention for his investigation of abortion clinics, especially the probe that led to allegations against Planned Parenthood of Kansas City and late-term abortionist George Tiller. Cheryl Sullinger of Operation Rescue in Wichita believes the charges have no standing and are politically motivated.

This was forwarded to me from my local Pregnancy Resource Center. I thought it was such a wonderful idea and I am doing it today. Hope some of you out there will join me.
Subject: Red envelope idea
Dear Friends and Intercessors:
This afternoon I was praying about a number of things, and my mind began
to wander. I was deeply distressed at the symbolic actions that
President Obama took as he began his presidency. Namely, that he signed
executive orders releasing funds to pay for abortions, permission to fund
human stem cell research, and federal funding for contraception. I have
been involved in the pro-life movement for nearly 20 years, and it pained
my heart to see a man and a political party committed to the shedding of
innocent blood. This man, and this party lead our country, but they do
not represent me or the 54% of Americans who believe that abortion is
wrong and should no longer be legal.
As I was praying, I believe that God gave me an interesting idea. Out in
the garage I have a box of red envelopes. Like the powerful image of the
red LIFE tape, an empty red envelope will send a message to Barack Obama
that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue. It will be
quiet, but clear.
Here is what I would like you to do:
Get a red envelope. (You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply
stores.) On the front, address it to:
President Barack Obama
The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Washington , D.C.20500
On the back, write the following message:
"This envelope represents one child who died in abortion.
It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world.
Responsibility begins with conception."
OR
"There is no God who condones taking the life of an innocent human
being. This much we know." -- Barack Obama at today's National Prayer
Breakfast
Put it in the mail, and send it. Then forward this email to every one
of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send
50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died before having a
chance to live. Each one counts. Maybe it will be used to change the
heart of the president.
Warmly,
J. Otto
