Be assured, if you walk with Him and look to Him, and expect help from Him, He will never fail you.
George Mueller more famous quotes ***************************************************** A Very Special Valentine's DayToday a couple from our town who recently asked Jesus to be their Lord and Savior and have been coming to church faithfully are getting married. They have been together for quite some time, but now that they are saved they know they need to get married. What a blessing and what a special Valentine's Day! Rejoice with them!![]() ![]() ![]() “But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” (2Co 10:17)“But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD.” (Jer 9:24) ![]() Blessing, blessings, and more blessings!Recently I had been praying that the Lord would bless us with more grand kids. He has seen fit to answer that prayer. About a month ago, our third son announced that they would be having their third child due the first of August. They found out today it will be a boy. They are excited about that since their first two were girls. We are very excited about it too. This will be number 10.But we have been blessed again! Last night our daughter invited all the family for an evening of food and fellowship. After a while we noticed that their son, John David (JD for short) had a new shirt on. It looked like this. ![]() So now number 11 is on the way. What a thrill, blessing, and wonderful answer to prayer! “But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” (2Co 10:17)“But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD.” (Jer 9:24) ![]() Lessons from a childMy son who is on deputation for the field of Brazil had an interesting incident happen to him last week. Here it is in his own words:"We are thankful for God's protection through this past week of travels! Last Sunday we had no scheduled meetings so we visited a couple churches within an hour drive in hopes of getting future meetings. After another week of phone calling we have been able to schedule a few more. On Wednesday we traveled to Birmingham, AL, for a meeting at Mountain View Baptist Church. On the way there we were driving down I-20 at 70 mph. I asked Esther to hold the wheel for a second while I turned around to deal with our daughter who was acting up. For some reason I thought she had heard and was holding the steering wheel, and I turned around backward in my seat to deal with my daughter. Well, Esther didn't hear me and never held the wheel! When I turned back around we were in the grass of the median going 70 mph. In somewhat of a panic I jerked turned the wheel to navigate back onto the road, and the van started fish tailing. While trying to gain control of the van we did an entire 360 degree spin at high speed in the middle of the interstate. Finally we ended up facing the wrong way, and I was able to back up the van into the median. All that would have been fun in an empty parking lot with ice on the ground, but it was quite scary in the middle of the interstate. We are thankful for God's protection as the traffic seemed to all disappear while we were spinning around. After we were stopped and sitting in the median catching our breaths, Allie quite calmly asked, "What did daddy do that for?" Although she had just watched the whole thing, she had no concept of the danger. May God give us that kind of trust in Him during troubled times! God also blessed us this week with another supporting church in Sylva, NC! We praise Him for His protection and provision. Please continue on in your prayers for us!"
What lessons we can learn from a child! If only we would relax in the Lord during trials and tribulations, and just realize that everything is in His hands. I am thankful for the Lord's protection over my son and his family and for His continual provision for them as they travel the deputation trail. “But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” (2Co 10:17)“But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD.” (Jer 9:24) ![]() An exciting day! There was a certain man who lived down the street from my son. He fixed lawnmowers and sold used lawnmowers. There was another certain man who lived near my son. He also was a fix it man for lawnmowers. They all knew each other. One of these men who was getting old, also got very sick, was in the hospital and near death. My son sat with him several days and nights. He did not have a very good family and many of them hated him and each other. My son had visited him often and told him about the love of the Lord Jesus. Now that he was in the hospital, my son had also taken time to visit him and to tell him more about the love of the Lord Jesus. He would sit and read the Bible to him. Although the man could not speak much while in the hospital he did respond to my son through facial gestures and hand squeezes. My son feels confident that he came to know the Lord as his Savior while on his death bed. After he died my son was asked to preach his funeral. My son's caring attitude for this man and for his family was a great testimony to those who attended his funeral. The other certain man said I want to come to church with you. Well, today, while my son was out of town this certain man, his daughter and her "husband" showed up at church. The "husband" had accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior a week ago through our jail ministry. He had been in and out of jail for different reasons and it just happened that one of our men from church happened to witness to him in the jail. He told his father-in-law, the other certain man, that he was going to church. The other certain man said he was going to church too, but wanted to go to my son's church. They had no idea that it was the same church until they showed up today! Now isn't that a wonderful story! And isn't it great how the Lord worked it all out! After church they went out to dinner with us and another family from the church. We left the restaurant a little earlier than the others and a while later received a phone call from the other family saying that the daughter had also accepted the Lord as her Savior. Wow! What an exciting day and in what unusual ways the Lord works!“But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” (2Co 10:17)“But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD.” (Jer 9:24) ![]() God is ever mercifulMy son and daughter-in-law on deputation to Brazil with two children were recently home for the holidays. Their three year old daughter ran a very high fever. We called on the Great Physician to heal her. After one week, she was still very sick and they decided to take her to the doctor. Praise the Lord she was better the next day!My daughter and son-in-law are on a mission trip in Mexico. They e-mailed to tell us that their one year old son was running a very high fever - 106 degrees! Once again we called on the Great Physician to heal him. Praise the Lord after several days his fever is back to normal. I don't know why this has happened except that the Lord does want us to call on Him first. I know He gives us doctors and medicine to help, but I am thankful that He is first and foremost the Great Physician who heals all our diseases. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalm 103:1-5) I cried and rejoiced last night at the mercies of God! How thankful I am that He delights in mercy and that His mercies are new every morning! “But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” (2Co 10:17)“But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD.” (Jer 9:24) ![]() { Last Page } { Page 1 of 3 } { Next Page } |
