Isaiah 40 - What a great chapter!
God is so great and mighty!
"To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto Him? V18
- He will come with strong hand. v.10
- He will rule v. 10
- He will feed His flock like a shepherd v.11
- He measured the waters in the hollow of His hand v.12
- He meted out heaven with a span v.12
- He comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure v.12
- He weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance. v12
- No on can direct him, teach Him, instruct Him, judge Him, teach Him knowledge or understanding. v.14
- The nations are as a drop of a bucket v.15
- He sits on the circle of the earth and we are as grasshoppers. v.22
- He stretches out the heaven as a curtain and spread them out as a tent to dwell in v. 22
- He brings rulers to nothing and makes them as vanity. v.23 ( Watch out all ye in high places, God will have the last laugh. God is not mocked!) You will all wither and be blown away as stubble v. 24
- He knows the number and names of all the hosts in the heavens. v.26
- He is the great creator v.26
- He is great in might and strong in power. v.26
- Our ways cannot be hid from God v. 27
- Our judgment will not be passed over by God. v. 27
- He faints not, is not weary, and there is no searching of His understanding v. 28
- He gives power to the faint and inreases strength to thsoe who have no might. v. 29
- He gives renewed strength to those that wait on Him. He gives wings as eagles, He helps us to run and not be weary and to walk and not faint. (What great promises!)
"TO WHOM THEN WILL YE LIKEN ME OR SHALL I BE EQUAL? SAITH THE HOLY ONE." V.25
I am awed and humbled by the great God that we have. Yet to think that the great Creator, the I AM knows my name and loves and cares for me as an indiviual. |
