~ WELCOME TO FAIRYTOPIA ~

My daughter is a big "fan" of the Barbie movies, and as shocking as this might be to some of the folks that know me

, they are actually good movies.. Anyhoot, after church we try and swing into the local Goodwill every chance we get when we are up that side of town, so today was no different. I was hoping to catch the little houses they had there for the past several weeks, but no luck, instead I was able to snag a little little house(this is smaller than the ones I had been eying). So I was thrilled, then DD spotted the two fairies, so then she was excited cause this only ment we could get going on her "fairytopia". The minature flag we picked up at the Dollar General next door to the Goodwill, along with some other things. After we left the Goodwill I made a quick stop at our Lowes, and came out with a 2 (12 pack) cartons of these flowers Each Carton was $1 YES a $1, they had several other flower containers that I picked up, Seeds were also bought, and a soil tester for the garden plot. As you can read I am getting a bit of Spring planting fever. The kids and I are so excited to be heading out doors more, now that the sun is starting to tease us and the flowers are peeking their first blooms of the new up coming season. The above picture is the "fairy topia" village DD and I did when we got home, We use the kids old Red Rider Wagon as our landscape area for the " enchanted " villa.lol I am hoping to attract the lady/man bugs to this area, as I have seen a few sneek into my home. I may pick up some worms too to help keep the soil good.... Remember folks, Lady Bugs, bees and worms are Your FLOWER FRIENDS!!

~ Tales from the Window Sill ~

After our weekly appointment on Wednesdays we decided to swing in at Jo Ann Fabrics, The kids and I noticed these cute little flower pot kits for .99cents each, so the kids and I each chose a flower type to grow in doors. DS chose the Peonies, DD grabbed the pansy and I grabbed 3 Forget me not pots. The kids were so excited that they would be able to grow something in their room besides beans in a ziplock bag

that as soon as we got home they went to work getting the pot ready with the soil, which was so weird at first, until the directions said to soak in some water for 5 min then the flat pancake type soil just sprang up like a sponge, kids placed their seeds, lightly covered and headed off to their rooms to place them in their windowsills. I am not sure exactly how long it will take for them to grow but I am sure the kids will check on them each morning...they even asked if they could use my tiny watering can to water the pot for when the seeds need a lil bit of moisture.... I laughed and said sure..

~ SALUTATIONS ~

Hello and welcome to our first Nature Blog, Stuck Between a Windmill and a Watering Can. I am so excited to be doing this with my 2 children, Daughter Thumbelina(12) and Sir Cricket(7)( Names have been withheld for security reasons). This new blog will be a place to share our personal adventures in the creation that our gracious Lord has gifted us with. It is my prayer that not only can we bask in the beauty of it all, but that it be a blessing to draw my children and I closer to each other and our Soverign Lord, as well as a time to reflect and seek refuge during those times we will miss our Leading Warrior Elf.... My Husband Jason while he is away in Iraq serving for the next 15 months. I look forward to hearing from you and sharing all that the Lord has graciously given us....
