Thought I'd let you know I am still
here. I got back from Texas late Saturday night, but as it was Ben's
birthday we had alot to do Sunday, and yesterday we had errands and
business in town. I am totally wiped and have a big heartache to boot,
so I plan on being extremely lazy today, and then I'll get back in the
swing of research and writing.
I have to say that the Bible promises your children will give you rest
if you train them correctly, and this has been proven in my family. All
the tough years of training and discipline and prayers have turned out
some great kids. My children did great while I was in Texas. My
daughter cooked, cleaned, and generally became me for a few days. She's
not even foutenn yet, but can already run the house and take care of
the barnyard. Excellent.
My uncle did a fantastic job memorializing my Gramma. She looked
beautiful, and the memories were all revivied and brought out to cry or
laugh about again. It was very hard. Very hard. But...also healing. I
am utterly exhausted and have alot to catch up on, but I am very
grateful I waas able to go to Texas to send Gramma off.
The Lord is so good, and just to bring me some comfort and recreation
(I think!), has sent my pre-ordered Nubian buckling. I have named him
"Handsome Rob" from the movie, "The Italian Job". We drive to Oregon to
pick him up tomorrow. He's very cute, and a baby is just what I need.
Something to "mother" is always a good diversion. I brought home 4
chicks from town yesterday. Spring means babies to me. I will have
tons!
So...I'm off to relax and read "Nourishing Traditions", and arrange for
a milk source since my does are all dried up and bred late.
