Mouse Update...Sh! Nobody Tell Doug!

Okay, nobody tell Doug- but there was another mouse sighting today. We aren't sure if it's my daughter's pet, or another little pest pooping in my pantry, but we know there's mice here still!
Crystal, it may appear that a cat or two is the solution, however, we have seven cats already. I refuse to allow them in the house anymore. Every cat we tried to keep indoors has had nasty toilet habits that I can't abide. I have gotten them spayed, and this seems to do no good. We have decided all the cats we own and have ever owned, are dumb.

So...we shall set traps, and hand over the pellet guns to Dad and sons for extermination. That's a last resort, though, because I'm not sure I like the idea of shooting in my house!

FYI- snakes like to catch mice too. But somehow I doubt you'd want one of those in your house! As to the shooting- I doubt you want that either! So- here's hoping that the traps work!

Never fear! I've caught snakes in here before as well. Salamanders too, come to think of it.
Too bad the cats are so stupid. They would take care of all those critters crawlin' in!

Start with a kitten ... they learn quicker than adults as to where to go potty - you can train them to ask to go outside ... and could have an inside during the day, outside at night one, too.

I promise I have tried that! A few times actually. Eventually, the turn bad. I'm not kidding. Having had cats all my life, I never had problems until our last home. It was built by us and brand new, so there waas no excuse of prior territory claims. This house is old, so I'm not so sure, but I tell you the cats are dirty here!

We have a mice problem too and our cat is actually a good mouser, but for some reason there seems to be a couple that have stayed out of her path. I can here them when the house is quiet. Ugh!

ditto on the peanut butter; we use a cheddar cheese and peanut butter combo.

we still have one mouse around; I was upstairs in Sam's room yesterday and I could hear it gnawing somewhere....

I know what you mean about the cats and their bathroom habits.....we have 12 right now - and there are a couple that even with the catdoor in the basement to the glorious and endless of land beyond - will come inside the basement.......pass the litter box........and you can finish the story.....

dh would happily shoot them all!

we do have a few that are good when "visiting" - two little sisters are having to stay in as I am awaiting to have them spayed (trying to schedule) and we don't need any accidents!! they "live" w/Sam and are very good girls (so far) -

use the cheese/peanut butter combo - it works great.

Well, pellet guns may work. My son told his Sunday school class teacher that his Momma kills rats with a broom. For the record, it was a small mouse. Only one small mouse. The way he told it, though, sounded like something straight from [the Southern comedian] Jerry Clower's tales about the Ledbetter family. Good luck!
