The Queen of Quite Alot

~Come to me, my bride, my queen you shall be. Song of Songs 4:8~

is for good men to do nothing.-Edmund Burke

I Need to Say "Thank you" to My Men!

Perfectly innocent looking horses, huh?! Ya, right.

They have made such a mess in front of the barn, that combined with all the snow and rain we have had, there's muck up to and in some places, past my ankles. The other day I got both boots stuck in muck so deep I panicked! I didn't know for sure just how far I might get sucked under! Death by manure sounds scary, and smelly.

I was on my way to milk, and when I got stuck, my handsome son (in picture) came to pull me out. I almost fell in, so to keep my balance, I flailed my arms, and lost my sterilized bucket. Had to go all the way back to the house and clean it, and then start on the muck trail again.  Ugh. Then there was the walk back, trying not to spill the milk, well, it's all too much for this woman to take. Hurry up spring!
I'm so grateful to my helpful son, Tay, for always being there to help his mamma! You are a great son, and make me proud!

It snowed so much again last night, that on my way home from town, where it was only raining, my husband called to warn me about the need to put the truck in 4X. He also said he would have to leave that night to make it to work before the pass got closed again. On our way home, the snow got thicker and thicker. I can't see well at night anyway, so this was getting scary. I decided to take a back road home to avoid a certain downhill sharp turn. I couldn't see well at all, and somehow got miles off track, and lost with a truck full of my children, a ton of wood pellets, and a month's worth of groceries. ugh.

I just have to tell you how grateful I am to have a husband who is such a great guy. He told us how to get to a certain church, and then told us to wait there for him. He came and found us so we could follow him home. So..I'm sorry for all the mean things I ever said to you, Doug! You are my hero! What would I ever do without you?

2006-Feb-1 - You make my day!

Posted by Tammy
First I just love to hear about how you love your hubby and kids!! Awesome! Second- your story about the muck sounds all too familiar! We used to have a blind cow that we had to lead into the milk barn and back to her pen. One year it was too frozen to get the tractor to clean it up so it was pretty bad when spring began to arrive. I made the mistake of walking across the pen (thinking it was frozen!) instead of walking the perimeter and I sunk up past my calves!! Couldn't move without losing my boots! So I stood there hollering for someone to come and rescue me!! Luckily my pops was wondering what the problem was and came to my rescue!! Family is the best isn't it? You gotta appreciate good men!! LOL- haven't thought of that in awhile!! Thanks so much for your blog- I thoroughly enjoy it!! Have a tremendous day! God bless!
