Did you know there is a verse in the Bible that says if you bring your children up right, they will give you rest? Don't ask me where right now, I'm in no condition to leave this chair and go look it up.
Anyway, it's true. I have the flu, and feel just terrible. Doug had to go across the mountains to work today, but I'm not worried. My three children, 13, 11, and almost 7 are taking care of me. They are bringing me tea, barley water, and whatever else I whine about!
They are doing the barn chores, including milking, and keeping the laundry up as well as the housework done.
I am blessed. My daughter took care of the meals, and I haven't had to do anything but take a shower and strain my kefir.
My sweetie bought me a beautiful glider chair with an ottoman for Christmas that I have been glued to. What a treat! He also bought me a very nice, registered Nubian buck. How many guys would go to that trouble? A mature buck in rut smells to the moon and back! I even got my favorite doe bred already.
I feel like death warmed over, but life is good!
I am so excited about all the other homestead-types on this site! Such fun! So many people with goats! Hurray!
Okay...that was fun, now back to bed.
