The Land is Calling

My husband the leader of our home

I have always said, and truly believe, that when I married my husband God had given him everything he needed to lead our family. I still believe this 11 years later. God gives him wisdom he does not always give me. Now, I can tell you that my honey will always listen to me if I think something is off and we pray together. But in the end I believe God always gives my honey the right direction to go.

So, even though this is not my hearts desire, I am in complete agreement with him because I know what he is suggesting is right. Because, we do not know the area we are moving to my husband wants to rent. He said maybe only 6mts, until we can learn the lay of the land and find exactly were we want to be.

Now, when he first said this I was crushed, not flexible, a little angry. Jesus needed some time to work on my heart. As the words sank in, I realized he is right. What if we buy something and when we get there it really isn't what we want. If we are living there we will learn the areas we want to be in. Then we can begin our search. It is really hard to buy something when you have never seen it or the surrounding area.

So first I heard, no you will NEVER get your homestead, and then I heard be patient for the perfect one. That is a hard one for me. Now I am at rest knowing my Lord is in control and my honey is a man of God and full of His wisdom.

Now my search for a rental is on. I actually found a 5/3 with a yard for not much money. That could work for awhile, they might even let me plant a garden. You know with God all things are possible.

So my verse since yesterday is Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Blessings,

Andrea

Husbands lead

I can relate to your post, it is so hard sometimes to place yourself under your husbands authority, it sounds like he is a good man and only has his families best interests in mind.
My sweet husband also listens to my opinons and thoughts and takes them into account I understand the final decision is his. God made him the head of our household not me, and I'm thankful for that.

You are correct in saying your Husband is the Head! And isn't it such a nice feeling to know you can put your trust in him because he is a mighty man of god? Congrats again on moving, and I know God has that perfect house there, just waiting for you and your family!

God Bless!

Good for you! It seems for me that when it comes to home ownership kinds of stuff it's extra hard for me to submit to my hubby. Several years ago we went through something similar and I was just crushed about the whole not owning some land thing - turns out (of course) that my husband was right. We've saved tons of money and are now looking at a piece of property that we could buy with no loan. God does give our husbands special wisdom...

renting

I read somewhere that renting first is a good idea when you move to the country, although in a way it would be harder to uproot and move again when you buy, unless you rent to buy. As for me, God is helping me be content here in the city, as my husband doesn't feel led to move, although I believe God put it in my heart to live in rural area, and He will bring it to pass in His perfect time. Hello Andrea -
I love this post - because I have not always heeded that direction - I have been divorced (a couple of times and now widowed) - all through my own stubborness - but I know that God will restore all He had for me - even though it was of my on doing!! You are so smart to trust God and your husband and now the plan God's has for you and your family - Ok kinda ranted there - but your post truly touched my heart!!!
