The Land is Calling

Today I am focusing on the fact that Jesus is near. He is as near as can be. God is close enough to hear. That is a big thought. I think I have always known that, but I don't know if I have let it pervade my thoughts. How my daily life would change just knowing that God is right here with me. I need to be reminded of this all day. Just to stop and talk with Him and praise Him throughout the day. I want my kids to grow up doing this. I want to begin a Godly heritage now.

What need doing today. I need to give math tests to my 2 older kiddos. My daughter is finishing up her LA book and I need to do some reading with my 8 yr old. I need to tend to my tomatoes. My little ones are just loving watching them grow and so am I. My 8yr old said he was going to have to start liking tomatoes, he can't wait to try one. A garden is good for picky eaters. Often they want to eat what they grow.

Just some home maintenance, it is in pretty good shape. I have to finish up a load of laundry and maybe iron a couple shirts for my honey.

We are suppossed to have thunderstorms throughout the day, so I think we will be in most of the day. I might do some baking with my kids, they always love this. Tonight for dinner we are going simple with BLT"s yum.

My oldest daughter is very allergic to poison ivy, she reacts like noone else. We were all in it over the weekend, but my boys and I don't have any. My honey has it around is ankles, but my DD has it all over her feet and now it covers both of her legs. Last year she had it so badly, it got on her face around her eyes. I am praying that it will dry up today and that it stops spreading. Does anyone know of anything to do. I am doing everything I know to do. Just thought I would ask, she is such a trooper and not scratching at all. She is also miserable.

You just really hit a chord with me - how I wish I would automatically turn first to him - I am getting better at it - but long for that closeness you describe.

I have a bad case of poison oak right now...I can feel your daughter\'s pain! :(
I found Calugel at Wal Mart. It was about $5..and comes with another product, Tecnu, which is to be used after exposure to remove the oil. The Calugel sure relieved the itching and burning.
