The Land is Calling

My birthday

Today I turned 35!!! It was really a nice day. My honey and kids got up and made me pancakes for breakfast. They even made it breakfast in bed, with ice cold O.J. and warm syrup. They all gave me cards. It was nice.

We got up and got dressed and went to downtown Franklin. It was a really nice place to explore, lots of antiques. I love looking at antiques. This is about when my honey couldn't do anymore. He has been fighting a cold all week and it pretty much tackled him when we where out.

We then went home. He and the baby took naps. My daughter and I did house stuff. And for the first time in 35 yrs I had to cook myself dinner...gasp. I know that sounds awful. I have always had a birthday dinner. My mom always makes it or my honey would take me out. So now that my honey was in bed, and my mom is 2 states away, I was the designated cooker.

I made myself roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, steamed asparagus, and peas. We also had homemade bread and then gravy. It was a nice dinner and we set the table really pretty.

My honey had all the kids go around and tell some of the things they love about me. It was a really special time. We just sat at the table for awhile talking. I loved it. Then he brought out my old photos of when I was a little girl and we looked at them for hours. It was fun seeing me little and my parents and my grandparents. The kids thought it was funny to see all my hair styles. They were funny!!!

My honey keeps saying he flopped, he had big plans for today and just couldn't pull it off. I don't think he flopped at all. He made it really special. I loved the time we all spent together this morning and this evening. He loved me and that was the best.

He said next weekend we will have a redo of my birthday. That is fine with me. I love to celebrate my birthday so a do over is GREAT!!!

I just had my cup of tea and I think I am going to call my birthday a wrap. I am off to bed and onto being 35, UGH!
