The Land is Calling

You know it is not always easy to discipline your children. They can really put up a fight and make it hard to stick to your guns. I do think that I am up for the challenge though. My 2 youngest have been very nasty to each other and punching each other. Some might just say this is "boys". I say it is mean, they are brothers and should respect each other. They should never punch each other.

So we have been dealing with this, yet it keeps raising it's ugly head. This morning when my 3 yr old was pushing my 5yr olds head into the wood floor and my 5 yr old punched my 3 yr old in the ribs. I called it quits. They have lost all outside priviledges, this is awful for them. Outside is the best part of the day. My 5 yr old seems to understand that this is a direct consequence to the offense, my 3 yr old is just MAD!!

I can't tell you how many times I have heard him whine about going outside. I just remind him that this is because of the hitting. I think he gets it, but thinks he can where me down. Though it may be tireing I am not worn down.

I think this is a great lesson and teaches them that there is a cause and effect. Hopefully they will remember this tomorrow and be able to play outside. We will see???

On another hand. I am still keeping up with my home. Amazingly my kitchen has stayed clean. School has gotten all done and the kids have helped with a couple pick up's a day. The house has looked lovely. I do have to spend some time ironing. I think tonight I will iron and watch some TV. I don't even know what is on TV tonight, I don't usually watch it. It just will occupy me so I am not so aware that I am ironing. I can't stand ironing!

Dinner for tonight is Chicken Stir Fry with rice. Yum! I need to get going and cook it.
