Mike and Jody Dooley need your prayers. Mike is my first cousin. Jody's son Chris went to take a nap yesterday. He was having a bad headache. When they went to check on him he had died.
Chris was 28 years old. A very shy, sweet , young man who still lived at home with Mike and Jody.

We are still waiting for autopsy reports to determine the cause of death.   Most likely some sort of aneurysm.

Please remember us in prayer.

U.S. military destroys soldier's Bibles
Fred Jackson - OneNewsNow - 5/5/2009 10:40:00 AM

The U.S. military is confirming that it has destroyed some Bibles belonging to an American soldier serving in Afghanistan.

Reuters News says the Bibles were confiscated and destroyed after Qatar-based Al Jazeer television showed soldiers at a Bible class on a base with a stack of Bibles translated into the local Pashto and Dari languages. The U.S. military forbids its members on active duty -- including those based in places like Afghanistan -- from trying to convert people to another religion.

Reuters quotes Maj. Jennifer Willis at the Bagram Air Base, north of Kabul, who said "I can now confirm that the Bibles shown on Al Jazeera's clip were, in fact, collected by the chaplains and later destroyed. They were never distributed."

According to the military officials, the Bibles were sent through private mail to an evangelical Christian soldier by his church back home. Reuters says the soldier brought them to the Bible study class where they were filmed.

The Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, told a Pentagon briefing Monday that the military's position is that it will never "push any specific religion."

Need
I need a strength to keep me true
And straight in whatever I do.
I need a power to keep me strong
When I am tempted to do wrong.
I need a grace to keep me pure
When passion tries its deadly lure.
I need a love to keep me sweet
When hardness and mistrust I meet.
I need an arm to be my stay
When dark with trouble grows by day;
And nothing on earth can these afford,
But all is found in Christ my Lord.

Please put me in your prayers, DH has lost his job. Things are very hard. He lost his job of 20m years last August. He had a very hard time finding another. We went through our savings to make ends meet. Just before Christmas he got hired on at a wonderful job. But they did not keep the new hires and he lost that job. We know God is our source, thanks for your prayers.

• Sat 3 Jan 2009 - Please pray for this little boy.

Posted in I BELIEVE

This came from a friend of mine. Please join us in prayer for this little boy.

Please pray for this little boy.

I'm relaying for the parents and just have enough for the prayer warriors to add another on their list, please.

Jonathan just turned 8 years old the 20th of Dec.

Apparently New Years Eve he had a Asthma attack so severe it caused him to die in his mother's arms, he was clinically dead for 45 mins, the rescue workers revived him as his 9 year old brother Taylor looked on and tried to get a flight for him, but had difficulties getting a helicopter near the home, they finally life flighted him to Columbia Hosp (Missouri) (not sure which one), he crashed on the flight and was brought back.

I recently got off the phone from his mother TeAna and at the moment Jonathan is in a coma, not sure if medically or self induced. He still keeps crashing.

Please keep him and family near in prayer. Thank you all.

• Sat 13 Dec 2008 - A Perfect Sacrifice...Dr Charles Stanley

Posted in I BELIEVE
A Perfect Sacrifice
Leviticus 22:17-21

In the Law, God gave the Jews strict rules about sacrificial animals. Each was to be without defect, or He wouldn't accept it--in fact, when the Israelites offered blind, lame, and sick animals, the Lord angrily called them to account (Mal. 1:8). The early system of spilling blood to cover sin foreshadowed the Father's ultimate redemption plan: He gave His Son to die in the place of corrupt men and women (John 3:16).

To be acceptable, the final sacrifice had to be perfect too. The Father's plan required that a man be sacrificed; however, only a member of the Trinity could remain sinless in life on earth. The other dilemma was that a being is either divine or not--divinity could not be bestowed on a child after birth. That is, the sacrificial Lamb had to be both God and man from the moment of conception (John 1:29). So Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit, since His earthly father could not be human.

The virgin conception and birth preserved Jesus' divine nature. His shift from heaven to the womb happened in an instant and was done without human intervention. Therefore,  unlike every child born of a woman and a man, Jesus was not corrupted by Adam's sin.

Jesus was the perfect Lamb, unblemished in every way. Therefore, God accepted Christ's sacrifice. The way we lay claim to the offering made on our behalf is by trusting in Him.. Denying that Mary was a virgin is not an option for believers. Our salvation depends upon Jesus' flawless nature because, as God made clear to the Israelites, only a perfect sacrifice will do.

As some of you know my lovely little grand daughter, Velvet Rose, age 11, lives with me. She has been here since around the first of the school year. Velvet suffers with Bi-Polar Disorder, ADHD and ODD. In early Sept. she was hospitalized for being suicidal. When she was released she came home with me instead of her parents. She has made great progress here with her grandpa and I. But on Tuesday she had to admitted to the hospital again.

She has been having bouts of very manic behaviour followed by severe depression. This is a way of life for those having Bi-Polar disorders.  She is a precious little girl who loves Jesus and her family very much. Please help us pray for her to be healed. I know God wants her to have a more stable life.  She needs peace of mind only He can give her.

...from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm 121

Remaining Faithful

Many people live with the unconscious or conscious expectation that eventually things will get better; wars, hunger, poverty, oppression, and exploitation will vanish; and all people will live in harmony. Their lives and work are motivated by that expectation. When this does not happen in their lifetimes, they are often disillusioned and experience themselves as failures.

But Jesus doesn't support such an optimistic outlook. He foresees not only the destruction of his beloved city Jerusalem but also a world full of cruelty, violence, and conflict. For Jesus there is no happy ending in this world. The challenge of Jesus is not to solve all the world's problems before the end of time but to remain faithful at any cost.

• Thu 11 Sep 2008 - September 11, 2008......The Lesson of Brokenness ....Dr. Charles Stanley

Posted in I BELIEVE

September 11, 2008
The Lesson of Brokenness
2 Corinthians 4:7-10

No one enjoys the feeling of brokenness, but we cannot ignore its wonderful benefits to our spiritual growth. Being broken gives us an entirely new perspective on the Lord's plan for our lives. You see, enjoying a steady, uninterrupted stream of blessings has an interesting effect on most people: it distorts our view of the Father, often leaving us to assume He exists for us.

We ask God for healing, for success, for financial security. We ask Him to bless our family and our relationships. We ask and ask and ask. And the truth is, much of the time we aren't really talking to the Lord at all. Instead, we've replaced Him with some sort of cosmic errand boy--we tell Him what we want and then send Him off to get it for us.

In all of this, who is actually at the center of our prayers? It certainly isn't almighty God, our eternal Savior and Creator of the universe. No, instead we find ourselves at the center of these prayers. Therefore, the end result is the subtle belief that God exists for our benefit. This distortion breaks God's heart and leads us far away from truly knowing Him for who He really is.

The antidote for this self-centered idolatry is brokenness. When God says "No," when He takes away instead of adding more, when He divinely manages what we have, how much we have, and how long we have it, He is helping us keep our eyes on Him. Do not despise these moments. Instead, recognize them as the voice of your Father calling you back into His loving arms.

In 2001, Islamic terrorists attacked the United States, crashing two hijacked airliners into the twin towers at New York's World Trade Center and another into the Pentagon outside Washington. A reported 2,974 people were killed, most of them in the trade center towers, which collapsed.

A fourth plane crashed in Pennsylvania, apparently en route to Washington, when passengers jumped their captors.

• Sun 15 Jun 2008 - ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT....From my inbox..Please read

Posted in I BELIEVE

ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT....
This is the scariest election We as Christians have ever faced.   From the looks of the polls, the Christians aren't voting Christian values.  We all need to be on our knees.  Do you believe we can take God at His word?  Call upon His name, then  stand back and watch His wonders to behold.  His scripture gives us, as Christians, ownership of this land and the ability to call upon God to heal it.    I challenge you to do so.  We have never been more desperate than now for God to heal our land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 :    If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace.  This had an amazing effect as bombing stopped.
There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. The United States of America and our citizens need prayer more than ever !!!
If you would like to participate:  each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time, 8:00 PM Central , 7:00 PM Mountain, 6:00 PM  Pacific, stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens,  for peace in the world, for wisdom and courage for our leaders, the up-coming election, and that the Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our land and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.
If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass this along.   Someone said if people really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless.  Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have. Thank You.
Please pass this onto anyone who you think will want to join us.  God Bless You!!!
