Grandma Rosie's Texas Home - I think I have a problem...But I am enjoying it!!!

Grandma Rosie's Texas Home

• Sat 24 May 2008 - I think I have a problem...But I am enjoying it!!!

I think I have a Vintage Linens problem. I can't seem to get enough. Which is sad just I just counted my Gingham Aprons and have around 60. I am not going to tell you how many, hats, hankies, gloves, fans, embroidered pillow cases and tea towels I have! Nor how many vintage baby items. I think I need to be delivered from my hobbies. Does anyone besides me love buttons and ribbons? Old canning jars? Vintage costume jewelery?

I collect aprons too, but only have one gingham (pink). I'm going to have to try canning cherries this year...we have them in abundance here in Wisconsin...they are the red sour kind and best for pies! Laura-Little Orange Kitchen

Hello Laura. I have nephews and families in Wisconsin. They live in La Crosse. Thanks for visiting.

Oh your problem is not really a problem, it a hobby:)

I learned how to do chicken scratch a few years ago and would like to make some gingham aprons and do some chicken scratching on them, like your aprons. I too love vintage things like you. I try to figure out why in the world any one would even want to get rid of such treasures. I guess I am thankful that they do get rid of them so I can have them:)
My mom has been collecting vintage baby items and I can see how that can become very addictative. Especially those cute pices with embroidery work on them.
I did enjoy the apron pictures and would love to see more of you collection:)

I will have to take some pictures of my treasures and post them.

Thank you for posting some of your pictures. I would love to see more. Collecting things from the past is a wonderful way to preserve history. I am glad that there are those who can do this. I love your blog. I guess I relate to you.

Before the Internet I thought I was all alone in wanting to do things the old way and homesteading and lots of things! No I find I am not so differant after all.

My Family is the greatest gift God has given me, second only to the Salvation provided me by Jesus Christ, God's son. I love to garden, we have a small garden for vegetables and herbs. A small orchard for growing our own fruit . I recently retired and am very involved in homeschooling my six grandchildren.
