A Christmas prayer from a Military Mom
At Thanksgiving were prayers
Said across our great land.
For a unique bunch of people,
A small close knit band.
For soldiers now fighting
In Afghanistan or Iraq.
For those in the hospital
Or who never came back.
And for their families and loved ones
Who say those prayers daily.
Whose Thanksgiving was quiet........
We don't celebrate gaily.
And some people forget that
We all can pray.
Because of the soldier
Standing guard far away.
He gives us our freedoms
Of speech, all our rights.
As he stands at an outpost,
On cold lonely nights.
So as we enter the Season
Of God's Love on our land.
Please remember, pray daily
For this small close knit band.
They are our sons and our daughters,
Our husbands and wives
Who give you your freedoms
At the cost of their lives.
