I had a hair raising day today!
To start with I only ad a few hours sleep last night. Well, I guess it was last night, what is today? Ok, start over, Friday night was sleepless. Got to sleep about 6am got up Saturday about 10 am. Then Ryan (12 year old grandson) and I worked in the yard, tending animals, cleaning up and planted a tree. he had to be back home ( 25 miles from here) by 5pm for drama practice at church. It was our Weatherford First Monday Trades Day Weekend. So we trooped out early from Granbury ( where I live) to take him home ( Weatherford) in time to catch the Flea Market. We grabbed a bite to eat and took off. It was beautiful out. Perfect fall weather. The Trade Days was very crowded, but we found what we were looking for. A nice rabbit cage with three compartments for the bunnies we are expecting from our momma bunny very soon. So far great day!!
While Ryan and Devon ( 9 year old grandson) were at drama practice, the rest of us, daughter, son in law , grand daughter and I went to IHOP and had a wonderful meal. Then off to explore the brand new, just opened this week end, J. C. Penney Store. Ronnie ( son in law) left us there and picked up the boys. We all shopped and had a great time. By now I am beginning to wear out. ( not enough sleep) .
I guess the rest of us were getting tired to. The boys started picking on each other, the grand daughter started being a Drama Queen about every little thing. I had a head ache, the daughter was having back problems and my son in law was getting very cranky!
Time to head back to the kids house. Ryan ( 12 year old) decided to come on back home and spend another night with me. Then the little one, Devon ( age 9) decided he wanted to go. Sounds great to me, grandma loves company. ( Just hurry, I'm really worn out!)
Ryan pitched a fit. He wanted me his self ALL week end. Not good, you have to share. Devon, go get your clothes for church in the morning. Grandma still has to stop and make copies of the church calendar to take to church in the morning! This did not set well with Ryan. He follows Devon into his room and intimidates him into staying home. Sad little boy tells grandma he changed his mind. NOPE! Grandma reads between the lines. Get your stuff baby, come home with your brother and I. Mom and Dad read between the lines. Ryan gets in BIG trouble for mistreating little brother.
Boys are fussing, Dad is getting irate, Mom is trying to smooth things out, sister is adding her 15 year old Drama Queen cents worth to the mixture. Grandma is sooo tired. The boys have not eaten yet, I still have to stop and get them something to eat and make calendar copies.
We're finally in the truck, WW3 breaks out between the boys. Devon says never mind grandma, he will just stay home. ( This little guy hates strife)
My cell phone rings it's my sister, lots of questions and demands being made by her. Boys are fighting, SHOCK and DISBELIEF, GRANDMA RAISES VOICE TO GRANDSONS. They are shocked into silence, I am to. ( I have got to get off this cell phone, Sis I will call you later.)
Devon takes his bag and returns to the house. I don't leave, I know Son in Law will be out very shortly. Ryan is in trouble. Yep, here he comes. More very loud lecturing takes place. Devon gets back in truck. ( I am slumping further and further in drivers seat)
Finally on the road, hurry, get to the Office Max. To late , closed. Quick, run over to Office Depot. OPEN!! Copies made. Boys want McDonalds, not Grandma's idea of food, but off we go.
Now, 20 miles home and I can collapse.
OH NO!
Half way home my new rabbit cage flies out of the back of the truck when we hit a pot hole. Cars behind me dodging, I'm am trying to get pulled over. ( Such heavy traffic, where are they all going this time of night?)
Ten minutes of prayer and searching and we find our cage. Is it smashed? has it been run over? Did it fall apart? No!! ( Well made cage!)
By the time we reload and drive slowly home avoiding all pot holes and bumps it is 10:30. Seems like midnight to me!
By the time we unloaded the truck and got inside I was really dragging.
Look out! Don't let the cats out. The coyotes will get them. to late, get your jackets, find a flashlight. They don't want to be caught! Isn't chase fun at this time of night? Don't you just love naughty kitties?
Ok boys, funs over, it's 11:00 pm. Into the shower. Ten minute argument about who has to shower first. Are these boys afraid of water or just fond of dirt? I decide, into the shower Devon. Ok, now you Ryan.
What? We need to work on your Science Project? Now, ok, come on. Devon falls asleep in arm chair. Ryan and I work away at the computer.
Enough is enough, to bed with you. We have to get up for church in the morning.
Praise God, it is time for day light savings, I can turn the clock back and hour . Maybe that will help!
Good night my friends, our is it morning. What ever, God still Reigns!
