Turnip Relish
Grind together the following:
15 medium yellow turnips
3 red peppers (sweet)
6 green peppers (sweet)
3 large onions
1/4 cup pickling salt
Sprinkle the salt over the above ground up vegetables and let stand for about 2 hours.
Drain.
Mix
2-1/2 cups white vinegar
3 cups sugar
1 tablespoon mustard seed
1 tablespoon celery seed
Add this to the ground up vegetables, and simmer for 1 hour.
Seal in sterilized jars & process. |
