1855 Recipe for Scalloped Cabbage
Ingredients:
1/2 head cabbage
1 cup buttered bread crumbs
1 cup white sauce
1/2 cup cooking cheese
Directions:
Cook the pieces of cabbage 5 to7 minutes. Drain water from the cabbage and add it to the sauce and cheese. Put layers of cabbage and sauce in a baking dish. Cover the top with buttered bread crumbs. Bake in hot oven--350 degreees until crumbs are brown. Serve Hot |
