Garlic Pepper
I love this on boiled new potatoes and plain white rice.
8 teaspoons garlic powder
4 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
In a bowl, combine all ingredients and stir until well blended.
Store mixture in an airtight container.
Use for seasoning grains, potatoes and vegetables.
Makes 1/2 c.
Saltless Season All
You can use this on anything.
2 tablespoons onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons mustard powder
1 1/4 teaspoons thyme leaves
1 tablespoon parsley
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery seeds
Combine all ingredients and mix well.
Spoon into a shaker with large holes or store in a small dish with a plastic lid.
Makes 1/3 c.
Southwestern Rub
1 1/2 tsps. Chili powder
1 tsp. Garlic powder
1/2 tsp. Oregano
1/4 tsp. Ground cumin
Combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container. Shake before using to Blend. Use rub on tender cuts of meat to add flavor. To apply the rub, simply Cover the outside surface of the meat with the seasoning blend prior to cooking. Flavors usually become more pronounced the longer the seasoning mixture is on The meat. Makes enough to season 2 lbs. of meat.
Dried Herb Blend
For corn and other vegetables
4 tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon thyme
Combine all ingredients and pour into a shaker. Use on any vegetable instead of salt.
Cajun Blend
1 tablespoon paprika
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
3/4 teaspoon white pepper
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
Mix all ingredients well & store in an air tight container This
