Flowers


Pansy

1 skein each of Violet (A), Straw (B)
Size H crochet hook.

Starting at center, with B ch 5, join with a sl st to form a ring.
RND. 1: ch 1, 10 sc in ring, sl st in forst sc and end off (B).
RND. 2: Place starting A lp on hook, *(sc, hdc, 3dc, hdc, sc) in next sc, sc in next sc; rpt from * around ending with sl st in first st-5 petals. end off.


White Daisy

1 Skein White (A), small amount of Amber "B"(br) Size H hook

With A ch 7, join with sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: *ch 5 , sl st in 2nd ch from hook and each of the next 3 ch-petal, sl st in next ch of ring: rpt from * working last sl st in same rin ch as joining, end off. With B, satin stitch flower center.


Petunia

2 skeins of Geranium
Size H hook

ch 5, join with sl st to form a ring. 8 sc in ring.
RND 1: sc in each sc around. do not join, mark beg of round.
RND 2 through 4: 2 sc in each sc around. At the end of last round there will be 64 sc, sl st in first sc of rnd and end off.


Leaves

1 skein each of Leaf Green and Bud Green
Size H hook

With desired color, ch 15.
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of the next 12 sc, 3 sc in next ch for tip of leaf, working along other side of ch, sc in each of 13 sts, sl st in first st and end off.

Width of leaf can be varied by working hdc and/or dc through mid-section of each side.
Work 2 leaves for each flower.


Leaf Group

Small amount of green yarn
Size H hook

With green, * ch 9, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st in next ch, rpt from* once. Fasten off.


Simple Rose

Small amount of worsted weight yarn. Your color choice.
size H hook

Ch 20
2 dc in 3rd ch from hook, sc in next ch, (skip next ch, 4 dc in next ch, skip next ch, sc in next ch) twice (skip next ch, 6 dc in next ch, skip next ch sc in next ch) twice. Break off, leaving a sewing length.
Coil strip to form a rose. Sew in shape through starting chain.
If you want a bigger rose do more chains and make the strip longer. I have used up to 7 dc in a larger rose.


Daffodil

1 skein, 3 1/2 oz worsted weight yarn , Yellow
Size G hook

To begin cup, ch 2
RND 1: 9 sc in 2nd ch from hook: join.
RND: 2 Ch 4, working in back lps only this rnd, tr in next st, *2 tr in next st, tr in next 2 sts, rep from * around, join to first sc.
RND 3: Ch 1, sc in same st as join *ch 3, sc in next st, rep from * around, join to first sc, Fasten off.
RND 4: To begin petals, inside of cup facing, join yarn with sl st in rem sp of any sc of rnd 1, ch 1, beg in same st as join, 2 sc in each st. Join.
RND 5: * Ch 3 (dtr, tr, tr, ch 3, sl st in top of tr) in next st (tr, tr, dtr) in next st, ch 4, sl sl in next st, rep from * around join. Fasten off.


Crocus

Use White, Dark Purple, Light Purple to make a Variety of colors. 1 skein each. Worsted weight yarn.
Size E hook
Do not join in rounds unless otherwise stated. Mark first st of each round.

RND 1: Ch 2, 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
RND 2: (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) around.
RND 3: Sc in each st around, join with sl st in first sc.
RND 4: Ch 3, (2 tr, ch 3 sl st) in same st, (sl st, ch 3, 2 tr, ch 3, sl st in each st around, join with sl st in same st as first ch-3. Fasten off.


Soil (used for decorating inside of basket)

Worsted Weight Yarn, Small about of Black or Dark Brown.
Size G hook

RND. 1: Ch 18, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 1, sc in each ch around, join with sl st in first sc.
RND. 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each of first 2 sts, (2 hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, 2 hdc in next st), 2 sc in each of next 3 sts, reap between ( ), 2 sc in last st, join.
RND. 3: Ch 1, (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around, join.
RND. 4: Ch 1, (2 sc in next st, sc in each of the next 2 sts) around, join.
RND. 5 & 6: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Fasten off.


Windflower

Worsted Weight Yarn , Small amount of white or drk blue or fuchsia depending on color you wish to use
. Light Green for center of flower & Dark Green for last round.
Size E hook

RND 1: With lt. green, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st in first sc.
RND 2: Working this rnd in back lps ch 1, s in each st around changing to flower color in last st made, join, fasten of lt green.
RND 3: Working this rnd in front lps, *(ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each of next 2 chs, sc in each of next 2 chs, sl st in same st as first ch) 2 times*, [sl st in next st, repeat between **], repeat between [ ] around, join with sl st in same st as first ch 6 (12 petals).
RND 4: Working in back lps of rnd 2, join dk. green with sc in any st, sc in each st around, join, fasten off.


Beauty Rose

Worsted weight yarn. Small amounts of either dark rose, or pale rose. Size G hook. For larger or smaller rose change hook size.

RND 1: Ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring, (sc, 3dc) 3 times in ring.
RND 2: Working in back of rnd 1 between sts, (sc, ch 2) 4 times.
RND 3: For petals, (sc, dc, 3 tr, dc, sc) in each ch 2 sp (4 petals made).
RND 4: Working in back of rnd 3 between sts, (sc, ch 2) 2 times in first ch 2 of rnd 2, (sc, ch 2) in next ch 2, (sc, ch 2) 2 times in next ch of rnd 2, (sc, ch2) in next ch 2, (6 loops).
RND 5: Follow instructions for rnd 3 and fasten off. (6 petals made).


Sun Flower

Worsted weight yarn. Small amount of Gold and Rust
Hook Size F

With gold ch 2.
Rnd 1: 9 sc in 2nd chain from hook, sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in same st as ch 3, 2 dc in each rem sc around, sl st in top of ch 3.
Rnd 3: Ch 5, sl st in same st as joining * sl st in next dc, ch 5, sl st in same dc, rpt from* around, sl sti in firs sl st of rnd and end off.
With Rust, Satin Stitch center of flower.


Narcissus

Worsted Weight Yarn. Small Amounts of White and Light Gold
Size F hook

With Gold ch 6, sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 5, sl st in snd ch from hook and in next 3 ch's, sl st in front lp of same as joining sl st, * sl st in front lp nex ch in ring, ch 5, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch, sl st in fron lp of same ch in ring, rpt from*, around and end off.
Rnd 2: With white and wrong side facing you, sl st in and unworked ch-sp of ring, then (sc, hdc, sdc, hdc, sc) in each rem unworked ch-sp of ring, sl st in frist sl st and end off. 5 petals.


Crochet African Violets

MATERIALS NEEDED: 1 oz 2 or 3 ply baby yarn in lavender, dark purple, garnet, wine, or white for flowers 2 or 3 yards of bright yellow for centers Small piece of syrofoam to hold flowers Green flower tape  11/2 yards flower wire Small flower planter No. E crochet hook
Green velvet or satin leaves (about 12)

chain 4, sl st in first ch to form ring.
Row1: Ch 3,make 2 dc in ring, ch 3, slip st in ring *ch 3, 2dc in ring, ch 3, sl st in ring.* Repeat between * 3 more times.(5 petals). Fasten off, weave in ends.
With bright yellow yarn thread into No. 13 sewing needle. Make one or two french knots in center of petal, (wrap yarn around tip of needle and sew down). Cut wire in different lengths 7, 8 or 9 inches. Slip through center back of each petal and fold down the wire in half.
Twist each wire with green floral tape.
Place the small piece of styrofoam in the flower planter.
Place the leaves around the outer edges of the planter. Put the violets inside. Be sure to make some shorter than the others and fill planter full..They are so real your friends will have to take a second look.


Crocheted Whisteria Flowers

Materials needed:
3 Balls cotton perle +895 yarn in 3 to 4 different colors that blend together
Florist's sprays of Whisteria, as many as desired fo a full bouquet No. 6 or 7 crochet hook

Ch 4 sl st to form ring.Both petals, top and bottom are made in the same manner. Ch4.

Top Petal:
Row 1: Ch 4,1 dc,ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1,1 dc allin half of ring. Ch 3 and turn.
Row 2: Skip to center dc. Make 2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc all in center st. End with ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch of ch 4 of row 1. Ch 3 ,turn.
Row 3: Make 1 hdc in center of ch3 sp, ch 1 make *1 dc, Ch 1, 1dc ,ch 1,1 dc, ch1,1 dc all in next ch 3 sp *,ch 1. Repeat between * in next ch 3 space. End row with ch 1,1 hdc in center of last ch 3 space,ch 3, sl st in base of ch 3 ( top of last dc of row ). Make a ch of 3 or 4 sts.to reach down to original ch 4 ring, sl st in ring. You are now ready to make 2nd petal of flower.
Bottom Petal:
Row 1: Repeat row 1 of Top Petal, ch 3, turn.
Row 2: Make 2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc all in center dc of row 1, end with ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch 4, ch 3 ,turn.
Row 3: Make a hdc ,ch 1,1 dc in first ch 3 sp,ch 1, make 1 dc ,ch1, 1 dc ,ch 1, 1dc all in center ch 3 sp, ch 1 ,make 1 dc ,ch 1, 1 hdc all in last ch 3 sp, end ch 3,sl st in base ch 3 of row 2 ( top of last dc of row 1 ).Make a ch of 3 or 4 sts to reach down to original ring. Fasten off,leaving enough yarn to weave in ends.

To Assemble:
Remove silk flower and calyx from spray. Replace the crocheted flower over the center calyx and return to the outer calyx. Fit firmly in place. Use as many as possible for a full bouguet.


Thread Carnation

About 2 1/2 inches across. Make with thread and size 6 hook.

Rnd 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook, join with sl st in first sc. (6sc made)
Rnd 2: Ch 3 (hdc, ch 1 ) 3 times in same st as ch3, (hdc, ch 1) 4 times in each st around, join with sl st in third ch of ch 3. 924 ch sps) Rnds 3-4 (Sl st, ch 3, hdc, ch 1, hdc) in first ch sp, ch 1 (hdc, ch 1) 3 times in each ch sp around, join. At end of rnd 4 fasten off.


Carnation

MATERIALS: Brunswick Fore 'n Aft sport weight acrylic yarn; 1 two ounce
skein. Aluminum Crochet Hook size #1 or B. Florist wire and tape.

Ch 4, join with Sl St to form ring. Rnd 1: Ch 3, 17 dc In ring. Join with SI St.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 2 dc In each stitch around. Join with Sl St.
Rnd 3: Ch 3, 3 dc in each stitch around. Join with Sl St.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, 2 dc In each stitch around. Join with SI St.
Rnd 5: Ch 3, 1 sc In each Stitch. Join with SI st and fasten off.
For smaller flower omit row 4.
Fold florlst wire in half and place down through center of flower and cover with florist tape. You may also attach artificial leaves.

6 Skeins of 6 strand embroid Floss-deep red
1 Size 1 crochet hook
1 Tapestry needle
1 Stem and calyx from plastic Flower (leaves optional)
gauge: finished circle is approx 4" in diameter
note: all rnds are worked from right side

rnd 1, ch 2, work 10 sc in 2nd ch from hook;join with sl st to first sc
note: center hole should be small so cicle will not slip past bulb at end of stem rnd 2: ch 3, 1 dc in same sc as join, *ch2, 2 dc in next sc; repeat from * around, ch 2, join iwth sl st to top of ch3-10 groups of 2 dc.
rnd 3: sl st in next dc and in next space; ch 3, work 1 dc, ch 2, 2 dc all in same space-first shell, *ch 2, work 2 dc, ch 2, 2dc all in next space ~next shell; repeat from * around, ch 2, join with sl st to top of ch 3-10 shells.
rnd 4: sl st in next dc and in next space, ch 4, work 1 tr, ch 2, 2tr all in same space-first shell, *ch2, work 2 tr, ch 2, 2tr all in next space-next shell; repeat from * around, ch 2, join with sl st to top of ch 4-20 shells.
rnd 5: ch 7, sl st in 3rd ch from hook-picot, 1 tr in next tr, ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook-picot; continue around working 4 tr in each space and 1 tr in each tr with a picot between each st, end with picot, join with sl st to top of ch4, fasten off.

assembly: thread needle with a 15" strnad of embroidery thread, from right side weave thread through base of sts on rnd 3, leave ends for typing. from right side insert bottom end of stem through cneter hole of crocheted circle and slide up to bulb end. tie strands tog drawing up sts into a tight cluster. knot scrurely and cut off ends. slide calyx on stem up over lower part of circle. attach leaves if desired.

small amount of red; pair of fish hook pierced earrings.
No. 10 steel hook.
Finished size 1 3/4" across
Stitches used. Ch, sl st, sc, hdc.

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (hdc, ch 1 ) 3 times in same st as ch3, (hdc, ch 1) 4 times in each st around, join

Open loop at end of fish hook earring, pass through any st on rnd 4, press loop closed.
