Welcome to the Truth and Grace (T.A.G.) Blog: a place where women can connect with other women and encourage and support one another. We want this blog to be a positive place where all is done in love according to
I Corinthians 16:14 which says, "Let all that you do be done in love." (NASB) We welcome you to this blog and hope that it will be a source of encouragement to you.
~ Newsletter ~
I put out a monthly newsletter for women. The main emphasis is Bible study. Each newsletter contains one Bible study lesson as well as homework that corresponds to that lesson. If you'd like to view a sample of the newsletter, please send an email to the email address below and put "free newsletter sample" in the subject line. If you'd like to subscribe to the newsletter, send an email to the email address below and put "subscribe to newsletter" in subject line.
Ladies, let me just say that I have so much enjoyed reading the posts for the "Lies Women Believe" book study discussion. If you aren't participating, I would encourage you to do so. But even if you don't participate, I encourage you to go through and read the posts and comments linked to today's study discussion. (See previous post)
Ladies, some of you have given me things to think about. You have blessed me with your words. You have been transparent and shared in a personal way. All I can say is that I am so thankful for all of you. I am thankful for the idea to do this study. I have no doubt that we are in store for a challenging and potentially bumpy ride. But we all want to know God's Truth so that we can free. May we continue to lift one another up and encourage one another as we seek to draw closer to our Heavenly Father and know His Truth.
In regards to Assignment #2...there are quite a few questions. You do not have to post your answers to all of the questions if you don't want to. I realize that doing so could make for a really lengthy post. You have the freedom to post any of them that you want to or post all of them. If you want, you can even choose one particular question to focus on in your post. It's up to you. I chose questions that I thought would get us to thinkin'.
I am so looking forward to our discussion next week on Chapter One. Buckle your seatbelts ladies. We're in for a ride! A ride on the road to freedom!
The book has really inspired me to look into getting the companion book for an even deeper study of what is being laid out; What I like about the book is that it is very challenging and it really does have us, or at least me, lift up the veil of what the world tells us as women versus what God lays out for all of us, both men and women, but for this case and the most part, for us as women, be it mother, wife, single or married.
I feel that "Lies Women Believe" causes conviction of "Do I believe this because I know this is what God wants for me" or "Do I not believe this because the world is trying to teach me other," And in some ways we are sometimes pre-condition not to challenge ourselves, or what others or the world or anything has to say, we should just ride along .
Even though we are juust starting the book, it's really cause me to do a lot of soul-searching and bible searching and more than anything searching after God and what He wants for us.
I think the two best verses that sums up how much more assured I feel with God are:
"For I know the plans I have for you,"declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."Jeremiah 29:11
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God." Isaiah 43:1B-3A
So excited to continue our study of "Lies Women Believe"!
Thanks for posting the Beth Moore quote in Marsha's post. There have been so many times I have wanted to tell others that exact same thing but sometimes I trip over my own words. That was very helpful.
I have more to post to you but I'm up way past my bedtime! I didn't get a chance to post today when everyone else was posting so I'll be back. :D
I grew up in a ministry family. The daughter of a preacher, I definitely fit the typical mold of a preacher’s kid. I have had many life experiences including being a pregnant teen and single mom, experiencing divorce, and more. All of my life experiences, good and bad, have molded me into the person I am today. I have an intense desire to see women live in the freedom Christ came to give them. I myself know the prison of bondage and the liberation of Christ.
