The Homesteading Carnival #64: The Proverbs 31 Woman Edition

Thank you for joining me this week for another amazing edition of The Homesteading Carnival. I had such a great time going through all these great submissions! I am so glad I was able to feature yours, if you submitted one! I had a really hard time figuring out what theme I wanted to use for my edition, and finally asked Mama if she had any ideas. She threw me some and one of them was Proverbs 31 Woman. I thought about that and didn't really think I wanted to do it, so I kept thinking about another theme. Finally got out my bible to read the scripture to see how I could use it as my theme.  So without anymore talking, er, typing, here is how being the Proverbs 31 woman relates to The Homesteading Carnival! Proverbs 31:14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.   Dora Renee' Wilkerson found a Surprise Chocolate Fudge recipe that Melinda of The Jud-King Family shared. The secret ingredient: pinto beans!   Abi who lives on lighter side has a wonderful recipe for some Banana Nut Butterscotch Muffins. Proverbs 31:16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.   Kathi who lives at Oak Hill Homestead shares their end-of-summer wrap-up of activities Around the Homestead. So much to do when you live on a homestead!   Jennifer Bogart who has a Quiverfull Family knows that an early frost means bringing in the harvest. So they have their Pic(k) of the Day, September 05, 2008 with a cute picture for you to see!   Stephanie who wants to Stop the Ride! has some Simple Pleasures TT#28 for you to think over and enjoy around your homestead this week!   Uncommon Joe took a Trip To The Zoo and got some amazing shots of some really neat animals! Proverbs 31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.   Stacy who is Delighting in the Days.... has a great kitchen tip for us as we bring in our harvests: How to Peel a Peach.   Ivory Soap who has a Little House in the Suburbs shares the step by step process of How to Raise Backyard Laying Chickens.   Larry Bogart who makes sure to Measure Twice, Cut Once was having trouble with Pocket Gophers , so he figured out how to trap them.   Stephanie who has Adventures in the 100 Acre Wood has decided to Save the Bees. They took a field trip out to a beehive and she learned a lot about bees and why they are disappearing!   Surfer Sam shares a lot of information on The Secret Lives of Bees. Honey, Health and Harvests and why its so important we keep the bees around! Proverbs 31:18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.   Miss Emily from the time that has elapsed has a really cute notebook that is easy to make . . . easy to use.   Sheri who lives in The Shades of Pink has a fun little organizer that she made from things around her home! Proverbs 31:13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.   Erica Burgan who is The Sojourner decided to make an An Old Fashioned Sock Monkey for her nephew's birthday! Proverbs 31:19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.   H0MEFree who has the Marvelous Mud Washing Machine gives a great tutorial with pictures on how to Sew diapers and diaper wraps.   HowToMe wants to know if anyone else stores toys and seasonal clothing in plastic trash sacks? Well, after being given this tip from her neighbor, she changed. She found out How To Easily Make a Storage Sack from a pillowcase. Proverbs 31:20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.   Homesteader Belle wants to share a new site she found called Goods4Girls. The site will accept donated items for girls who don't have the supplies they need as a woman! Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.   Jacque who is Walking Therein is excited because LucyLillie is Potty Training. She shares what is working for her and some great tips!   Jocelyn who has A Pondering Heart is giving away a copy of the newest Chuck Black book: Sir Kendrick and the Castle of Bel Lione. The Homesteading Carnival #56: Let FREEDOM Ring! is ringing

The Homesteading Carnival #56: LET FREEDOM RING! is up and ringing!  With the month of July starting tomorrow, we look forward to Independence Day this week. Independence Day marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.   So this weeks carnival theme is FREEDOM!
