Great Grandpa Walters

A Heavy Heart
| My heart is heavy. My dear 90yo great grandpa fell multiple times last month with the last fall putting him in the hospital and then a nursing home. :( He also has cancer and other health problems. We went up to see him yesterday and when we got to his room I was sure we were at the wrong room because I did not recognize him and when I saw his name tag on the door, my heart sank! He has changed so much since I saw him last and I'm just so sad. He is on medication that has done this to him... not only has it changed him physically, but the meds make him hallucinate and he has said some pretty horrible things that he thinks has happened! We didn't end up getting to see him because he was out cold sleeping, but it might have been for the better right now. It just breaks my heart because my Grandpa has such a special place in my heart. After I completed his armed service album for him, and we talked about his harrowing experiences, he and I became very close. I am glad to know tho that he knows Jesus but its just so hard to see him the way he is and I really am so heartbroken by what is happening. Please pray for us as we go through this difficult time and also for clear direction on being able to help them. Since Grandpa is in the nursing home, Grandma is at home all my herself. She doesn't want to bring him home because she cannot take care of him if something happens and she doesn't want to feel helpless. So if he stays at a nursing home, she will be alone. We don't want him to stay in the nursing home on all those drugs that aren't helping. We already lost a Great Grandma from mistreatment at a nursing home and we don't want that to happen again. We are trying to figure out how we can help them whether its having them come to our house or having one of us girls stay with Grandma. We all are just so sad by this and could really use your prayers. ©AmandaDixon2009 |

No Need To Fear, He's Here!
| YAY! I am just soo happy! After a very long and stressful 10 days my Vostro is back with moi! For those of you who think I just disappeared because I haven't updated my poor site in over a week, my Vostro was in for repairs. On the 16th, Hannah was carrying some soup upstairs to our sickies and fell down the stairs with it. When I heard her falling, I rushed up from my laptop to help her. When I came back, Vostro was on the floor, battery out, and the hinge that holds the screen to the body of the laptop was completely off. :( In my rush to help Hannah, I must have hit the table or something and it fell on the floor! Needless to say, the tears started falling! I was so upset! I got on the phone with Dell... and their awesome tech support. Unfortunately, this wasn't an easy fix like when my screen was cracked, so it had to be sent off! Sent ALL THE WAY to Round Rock, Texas. :O They said the repairs would be 7-10 days! :O That is a VERY long time to be without my laptop. So they sent me a box on Tuesday, and came and picked up my Vostro on Wednesday and I prayed as I handed it to the FedEx man for a safe delivery. Last week was not our week. We went through two adapters and my laptop. Mom had been using Grandma's adapter because hers was out and then Dad tripped over the cord and that adapter went out! So we got out Mom's original adapter to see if it would work; it had just gone out back in August and we didn't know why. Well, when we plugged it in, it worked! So for a few days, Mom and I shared her ac adapter between her laptop and Grandma's. Then that one died again! *sigh* Grandma and I went to Best Buy to get another one, but we found out that Mom's laptop needs to be repaired where the ac adapter goes in and that is why it keeps shorting out ac adapters. The Geek Squad guy told me to call Best Buy and get a replacement battery til we could bring the laptop in for repairs.There was no way we could send Mom's laptop in for repairs for two weeks with mine being gone and GGM needing to be published! I came home, and spent TWO hours on the phone with Best Buy... The first 5 people I talked to didn't know what I needed done and kept transferring me all over! One lady hung up on me when she was trying to transfer me so I had to call back and wait to talk to someone! Finally! I got someone who knew what needed to be done, and two hours after I originally called, I had a ac adapter coming to us! On Saturday, I received my iPod Touch. I was so excited! Of course, I had to set it up through iTunes and had to download it on Jocelyn's computer and that took forever! When I finally got it set up, it was so neat! It was very awesome to have since I didn't have my Vostro. I couldn't write up a blog post very well, but could check my email, my blog, twitter, facebook, and such! It did help with not having Vostro! Tuesday, I got an email that Vostro had been sent back to me and would be here before 4:30pm on the 26th. So yesterday, I waited, and waited and waited... 4:30pm rolled around, then 4:40pm then 5:00pm and still no FedEx with Vostro. I was not happy! :( I was soo missing Vostro! Its just not the same using other people's laptops! So today, I slept in late with a headache and was awoken to Eric very loudly saying that FedEx brought my laptop! YAY! I am sooo GLAD to have Vostro back! I soo missed him! Now... I have articles to write for GGM which will publish on Sunday, giveaways to post, pick a winner for the La Bella Vita USA Nvey Organic Foundation Review/Giveaway (have you entered yet?), comments about Hell to answer, pages to update, posts to write, and more! This month went by WAY TOO FAST! Alrighty, well I just wanted to let y'all know I am still alive! I am just sooo happy Vostro is back! YAY! Well, I am off to write now! Oh Brother!

We had no internet! *sigh* It went out about 12:30pm on Sunday and I went in and checked to make sure everything was still hooked up right. It was, so we would just have to wait for it to reconnect. I called our service provider to see if it was them, and there was a message that ALL wireless internet was down due to the weather... ok... so we waited, and waited, and waited! Had no internet all day. So we went to bed hoping it would come back on! Woke up this morning to NO internet! :( I kept all our provider and the message was still there. We were really bummed! We had gone into town a couple of times to download email and each time we came home we hoped it would be on. Well the second time we came home, we figured we would shut the whole system down to see if that was the problem. I checked the phone cord and it wasn't plugged into the blocker! DOI! So I plugged it in and within 2 seconds, I kid you not, we had internet! UGH! I don't know who had unplugged it or why... but it was unplugged and we were internetless! Blah! But I am very glad I thought to check that or we could still be without internet! Needless to say, we have a bit of work to catch up on!
