Howdy there, Partner!!

We are making dinner for the weary travelers that stop by on their way out west.
If you are looking for a spicy and good dinner,
R&R'smom of Lighter Side has a wonderful Enchilada Bake that will make you want to make mexican for dinner tonite.

Chas of My Cup Runneth Over has Requested Prayers and a Recipe. Her prayer request has been answered. Thank the Lord. But her recipe looks like something I would cook at my ranch. A stew. Yum!!

Now, you can't have dinner without dessert, right?? Right. So if you are wanting some nice, cool treats, then look no further than Amusing Reflections of A CountryGirl. Jocelyn has a Cranberry Bombe recipe that will cool you off after a long trail ride.

It seems Oreos are a big hit this week. Not only does Jocelyn's recipe include oreo's, but so does Amy of Simplefolk. She has a Oreo Truffles recipe that is to die for. Nice treat after a long day in the saddle.

Speaking of Oreos, I posted a funny story about O-R-E-O... ONLY THE ORIGINAL. It's not an Oreo unless its the ORIGINAL!!

If you are wanting a good warm breakfast idea for these chilly mornings, then you have to try what Kelley of Homesteading in the City has a Phenomenal Apple Crisp! This is a melt in your mouth recipe that will keep you warm when you wake up in the morning and get you ready for your next day on the trails. She even posted pictures, so your mouth will water.

Coffee is a staple in the west. You have to have coffee to survive and what goes great with coffee??
Coffee Cake. Rachel of Rachel's Reasoning has a great recipe for you to enjoy while sipping your favorite coffee flavor. Mine is mocha!!

It's never too early to start planning for Thanksgiving dinner and it isn't Thanksgiving without a pumpkin pie. So if you don't want to have to go buy one from the store and you lost your old grandma's recipe, then Dana has a really great Make your own pumpkin pie spice recipe that will calm your "I lost my recipe" fears.

It has been in the upper 80's here the past couple of days, closer to 90, and in the middle of the hot day, you know you will want something nice and cool to make you cool while you are on your farm or ranch. Page at Desiring A Simple Life has some wonderful recipes and whatnot about her juicer in **The Benefits of Juicing**. Home-squeezed fruit juice is very healthy and tasty.

And now something for your journey when you leave my Ranch. Can't leave the kitchen without a take along, right?? Jill of Through the Windowpane wants you to take some of her Spiced Autumn Leaves. It's her favorite cookie to make with her children in the fall. It's almost too pretty to eat. I'm sure it will become your favorite also.

OK... I think everyone has had their fill... so let's go over to the Dining Room, where we can plan and work on different things. Like This Week's Menu. Sara of Blessings From Home has a wonderful menu plan that looks healthy and tasty.

Also, Catherine of Hawthorn Cottage has her Menu Plan Monday up and shares what they will be having for dinner. Looks delcious!!

Since we are planning away and looking at what this next week holds, Catherine shows what her Home Management Binder looks like and is an inspiration to all. Every ranch, homestead, and farm needs one, that's for sure.

Homeschooling is a part of living on a ranch, homestead or farm. Jasmine of Ponder The Path has a Germ Experiment that will help in your science department.

Diane of Enjoying the Blessings! has some info on making your own Baby food! She shares how she makes it and how much it usually costs her compared to store-bought.

Let's go out to the drawing room now and have a nice chat before you go.

How is your sewing going?? I know every ranch, homestead and farm has some sewing that needs to be done. I have 2 baby blankets to make and a zipper on my jacket to fix.
Isabella of Our Little Brick Home has a Quilt and other things that need to be done too. How about you??

Rebekah and Bethany the Two Sisters of Sewing With Two Sisters is getting their work done. She has a New Skirt!! that she made. Isn't it so cute??

Jessica of Let our hands not be idle.. has a Magazine Update for you. She is an accompished young woman who helps her family immensely and heads up their magazine. It is chock full of so many great articles. I think this is going on my magazine rack. They are also having a contest. Go check it out!!

Nancy The Unlikely Homesteader
spent the Morning at the Pumpkin Patch. They had such a great time learning about pumpkins and picking the perfect one for their decoration of their homestead.

This Ye Olde Scarecrow Of Andover has a Sing Along that you will laugh your cowboy boots off to.

Jacque of Seeking Rest On The Homestead
found that there is a difference between Southern Friends and non-Southern Friends. I am so glad you are my friends!!

Let's chat now about spiritual things. It is good to be in company with many believers, especially out in the west, when you don't see people alot.

Urban Pioneer sees that even God Gardened With a Purpose. We should be thankful that we can yield our own food, so we can be healthy and take care of the temples of God.

Don't we all want A Clean Mind?? I know I do. Eric Novak of The Voice of Experience has a late night prayer and thoughts about that prayer. Take a reflective look at what it means to have a clean mind.

Well it looks like our time is almost up. But before you go, will you join with me in prayer for Ashley and Jay and Sammy. Ashley of Adventures of A Country Girl in the City is expecting sooner than she thought. It looks like Baby E - E is for Early! might be born in the next week or so. I am praying for a girl on my birthday, the 26th. How does that sound Ashley?? You could even name her Amanda.

Before you get back in the saddle or wagon, lets take a look at the Barn Work that is going on at Ann Marie's Busy Life in the Forests of Maine. Running a ranch, homestead or farm is hard work. But it is good experience too.

Pam of Heartily Homesteading has Tomatoes Tomatoes and more Tomatoes. Her tomatoes are going great and she has canned alot. woot!! and they now have their cows back.

As you go out will you take at look at the herbs that are planted out here. I am not sure what herbs I really like, but I know Amy loves Sweet Annie. She has some ideas for what you can use it for and she linked a friend who has a lot more ideas for different herbs.

Well I hope you had a good stay. I had so much fun with you. So glad you stopped by my ranch. Have a safe trip on the rest of your journey called life!!

If you would like to host The 20th Homesteading Carnival, please email the Carnival Staff..

As Always,
