The Carnival of Homesteading Round 3 is up and ready!!

Hi All!! Here is the 3rd Carnival of Homesteading for y'all to all enjoy. There are some really great posts that have been submitted this week. I can't wait for you all to see.
So without any more hestiation... here is the 3rd Batch of the Carnival of Homesteading!!

Chas over at Homesteading on the Mountain, has some GREAT ideas for "Trying to be Frugal, even on vacation".  Some of the ideas were : Have a bake day before you go. Bake some homemade goodies to take along and eat. Instead of being hungry and having to stop and eat junk food, you have homemade healthy foods that everyone is used to.

Page in England, who is Desiring the Simple Life made a "My Home Management Binder" where she lists all the things that need to be done in her home. In the binder, she lists "Rules for a woman", Her daily routine, Cleaning routine,  Menu plans, a calendar, and many other things that a homemaker should do. She even has pictures of her binder for all to see.

Eric is the Voice of Experience that shows us how to save a rooster from falling over by "Ministering Chickens". He did his research on how to remove the roosters spurs, so him and his dad helped the guy to be able stand up right. Way to go Eric!!

Geanine who Dwells in Possibilities has some very informative posts on the toxicity in many of the paper products we all use. In "Sanitary products", she lists the dangerous chemicals that they make them with. "Toxic Diapers, Could it Be True?????", Geanine has a long list of the problems your baby can have from all the chemicals in the disposal diapers and why cloth diapers are the BEST!!
"Oh no, not toilet paper too!!" tells us that of how the dioxins in the toilet paper can be harmful to your body.

Jocelyn who has Amusing Reflections has a "meatloaf" recipe that is filling and healthy and you will want to try. Did you say lettuce in meatloaf? Yes, that is what she said.

Jacque who Seeks Rest in the Homestead has a Mexican dinner in a post. "Homemade Enchiladas, Beans, Rice, and Tortillas" that will make your children say, "more please"!!

Amy of SimpleFolk has some great recipes for summer fun!! "Raspberry Lemonade Cake" that sounds heavenly, and this one sounds even better "Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball" Mmm... good!! These are two recipes I am going to try.

Heather who is Gathering Manna, has a another recipe for you to try: "Honey Cookies (Better than Snickerdoodles!)". Heather (who also is the author of Sprittibee) shares a great recipe at her Gathering Manna recipe blog. She's taken pains to try and make these mouth-watering cookies a little healthier. Head over and try her "Honey Cookies" which she claims are "Better than Snickerdoodles".

See what funny story I shared at My Learning Experience have to share in Ok, so I need a little more practice. I have a meal plan for you too.

April of ElCloud Homeschool has a "Tip of the Day -- Finding New Uses For a Common Item: Baking Soda" She says, "One of the all-purpose wonder items I've grown to love is baking soda.  It seems I am constantly finding new uses for it, besides baking.  We use it for so many things, we've begun buying it in a 4 lb. box". She list many ideas for using baking soda in your home.

Life of Contentment on Quiverfullacres asks us can we have "Life without a big mixer??". She also asks "Do you have to have a Bosche or other big mixer to mix large loaves of bread?  Read on..."

At Grandma Rosie's Texas Home, she shares how to "Can Potatoes - White" and how to get a head start on winters meals by canning your garden bounty.
She also shares an old fashion favorite,
Tomato Marmalade.  And it only has Calories 93 carbs 24g Fat <1g Sodium 6 mg per 2-oz. serving.

In the garden, Grandma Rosie tells us what "Herb Companions" you should put with which herbs you grow. HERBS ARE GREAT companions to food in your culinary masterpieces, and they are great companions in the garden, too. And she also tells us "Planting Herbs for Cooking". Herbs are expensive, so why buy what you can grow.

Nancy is The Unlikely Homesteader has a great Natural Weed Killer for your homestead. Looking for a non-toxic inexpensive way to get rid of weeds? Nancy has found yet another great use for vinegar!

The HomesteadBlogger Front Porch has a great post about Toxic Toothpaste. You'll want to check the labels of your toothpaste, better yet, just try Crystal's Tooth Powder.
Jill who is looking Through the Windowpane, has a very beautiful post about Drawing Hollyhocks and the importance of having them as well.  They are really a beautiful flower!!

Thank you all for joining me this week, I had fun putting this together and for all your awesome posts!! Check The Carnival of Homesteading for next week's host.
Love,

Hi Amanda. Thankyou for offering to help me with my template. My mom put some blinkies on for me,( I 'm not sure if that's what you call them or not.) I would love to join th SSA. It sounds neat. Oh, if you need it I have a fly spray for horses for you. It is: Take a sprayboddle andfill it half full with apple cider viniger, then fill the other half with your store bought ffly spray, that's for if the flys are really bad if they aren't bad just fill it half full with apple cider viniger and the other half with water, that beetpulp stuff works. slugger didn't exaclty like it but when I mixed it in with some of his other food I just gave him 2 1/2 cups of it, that's all you need because you soke it in a bit of warm water for a few hours , and it exspans.
I have two standerbred horses and a quarter horse. well talk to ya later.
