Finally~An Update!

Wow, sorry it's been so long!  These last 2 months have been an incredible whirlwind of activities both in & out of the home.  September is quickly proving to be the same....hopefully I can maintain my sanity :)

One of the wonderful events that took place in August was a visit from some dear friends from back home in Idaho.  Erik & Marcie stopped by as they made a loop from Idaho to the Oregon Coast to the Columbia RIver Gorge then back to Idaho.  We made a trip up to Rainer & went on a beautiful hike to a couple mountain lakes.

We only live about an hour & a few minutes from where I took this picture.  But this was the closest we had ever been to Rainer.
Here's the first lake we came across.  This one was not as pretty as the second one, but it was a nice temp for swimming in.  Look close and you can see Erik & Kevin sitting on the shore across the lake.
Erik trying to get a good pic of Rainer.  All his pictures turn out great!
Erik took this pic with his fancy camera & handy dandy tripod :).  The lake behind us here is Snow Lake, it was the second, prettier & much colder lake!

Thats all I have time for now.  We have company coming this morning to take a kitten.  Soon I'll post updates & pics on all the puppy happenings around here.

Easy summer dress

At Joanns they carry this pre-elasticized (gathered) fabric that makes the easiest sun dresses!

This one I actually made for Saige, but she is SO very picky about her clothes and felt like she was too immodest in this one.  I do not fault her for wanting to be modest.  I'm very thankful that her idea of modesty is even more conservative than mine.   So instead this dress went on to Em, my middle lady.   She adores it and did not want to take it off last night!

What great things He will do!

God has done so many great things for us! I can't wait to see what He has in store for these coming weeks.

We went on a camping trip with all of the Pastoral staff to Pine and Featherville, Idaho. Before we left we dropped off our sweet dog, Sugar, at my brother's house. On the way back from the trip, the next day, we learned that Sugar had jumped the 6 foot fence and ran away. I filed out "lost animal" reports with 2 local cities and posted her picture on Craig's List. We decided to check the neighborhood one last time before we left for the mountains on July 4th. When we got to the neighborhood Club House we saw that they were having a neighborhood party. We drove past on the way to my brother's house, however the Lord told me to go back. We turned around and when we got back to the Club House we saw her sitting in the grass with the crowd of people. Praise the Lord. I can't wait to see what He is going to do for the sale of our Home!

We spent Independence Day at our Pastor's farm, with the whole church!  It was an incredible blast, even in the 98* heat!

If you have an account with PhotoBucket you can make a custom little avatar to add to your blog or website.  It was fun to spend a few minutes making one for myself.

Here I am:  (only a LOT skinnier!!)

Birthday Girl

My middle girl Em just turned 6 on Monday!  Here are some pics of her opening some of her gifts. We didn't actually get a chance to take pictures of her party.  We had it on Father's Day & invited over some good friends to celebrate both Em & the Daddys.  There was a BBQ, tons of food, children playing everywhere, gifts, cake & ice cream and to top it all off: a bon fire!  It was a blast.

Working on the box from Grandma Katrina!

A sweet little Precious Moments piggy bank.  Em thought this was the cutest bank she has ever had & offered to give her old one to Saige.

Grandma K sent a Play Doh factory & Dora Dominoes too :).  Em LOVED them all!  She played with her dominoes during her quiet time & took the playdoh outside to play when her quiet time was over.

Thanks Grandma Katrina :)

A package from the other side of the family :).

Pretty pink bracelets!!  Em LOVES pink!  She also loves dress-up . Thank you so much Aunt Tammy!
A gift from Grandma & Grandpa S.  What could it be?
A baby doll!!  Em LOVES baby dolls :).  She has taken this dolly everywhere with her since she got it.
Thank you to everyone!!

Weekend with my Grandparents

Posted on June 10, 2007 at 12:12 by Faith Acre Farm - 0 Comments - Post Comment - Link

My Grandparents came to spend a couple days visiting us.  They spoil us rotten when they are here, taking us out to eat, shopping, ice cream, on trips.  We joke about how we only eat this way twice a year...When Grandma & Papa come to visit! LOL!

Well we took a little jaunt up to Lake Chelan here in Washington.  What a beautiful place!  The drive up & back was spectacular as well.  We spent some time at the beach, went on a lovely river walk, ate yummy food, swam, visited Rocky Reach Dam, got lost in Wenatchee, drove down the Columbia River Gorge & tried to see the Gorge Amphitheater (but it was closed!), spent a few minutes at the Ginko Petrified Forest in Vantage & came home exhausted!

Here are a few highlights of our little time:

My Papa with his great-grandaughters!  This is Chelan River, the water is amazingly clear!  Supposedly the clearest in the nation or state or something like that.
The fish ladder at Rocky Reach.  My grandparents weren't with us when we visited this place.  I wish they were, because my Papa spent years in the Hydro-Electric power business and also helped design & establish these fish ladders.  It would have been so cool to hear about this stuff first hand from him.
OK...I forgot what PUD stands for.  Oh, Public Utility District.  Cool huh?
The grounds at this dam were AMAZING!  We spent hours just walking around, playing & relazing in the shade.  The flag you see here is made up of Red & White Geraniums, Begonias & Marigolds.
The turbines inside.  So BIG! I remember being down on the bay floors like this with my Papa when he was in the Hydro-Electric biz.  I think the dams were smaller though...
The girls taking a break inside the museum at the dam.  Pardon the red-eye....it was dark in there!!
Columbia River Gorge behind the ladies here.  This was a viewpoint off the highway. So gorgeous!  I don't know why Ry looks so scared...she wasn't at all.  Across the river & to the very left is where the Ginko Petrified Forest is.
Sundown in the Columbia River Gorge.  Wow.  God is So amazing!!
