Good weekend...This is going to be a nice and productive weekend. Last night we went out for dinner, my mom treated to a nice Italian restaurant. I went and got the paint for the hallway stenciling and got the sample board done up ~ seems we have changed our "crow" border to "cardinals". Will begin the actual stenciling this week I think. Today I did the laundry (does it ever end...lol?) and I mad a nice batch of blackmoons ~ yummy. We had a nice salad and rice dish for dinner tonight. Tommorow I am going to make a french onion soup, with the last of the onions from the garden. It is supposed to be snowing like a banchee tomorrow, so the soup will be a welcome dinner. I have finished the taxes, will be filing them (efile) and have to sort through some paperwork to file, and some quick cleaning in the bathroom, but tomorrow is the Sabbath, so those tasks will wait until Monday.
I would like to so some scrapbooking with Hannah tomorrow, the time with her is so important, and it is going so fast (I can't believe she's 11!). She did such a good job today culling her book collection, got 2 bookcases down to 1, and a whole box of books to send to a friend of ours for his daughter to enjoy. And a small pile of books to add to her hopechest, for her children a long time from now. She has also been working on a scarf with her new knitting rings, she has over a foot of it done, good progress for less than a week. She is so talented with her hands.
She has so many craft kits to work her way through, it could keep her busy for the rest of the year! Soapmaking, she's done her candlemaking, crystal growing, rock tumbler, basket making ~ SHeeSH ~but she loves it, and it's better she work with her hands and her mind than spend countless hours watching tv or playing video games!
Hannah spotted a hole in our brush pile yesterday and remarked that something must have made a home....well today she was proven right, we found snowshoe rabbit tracks in and out of there ~ looks like they made their den way in, perhap underground, but loads of tracks! Which may explain the lynx tracks found a short distance from here...it visited us last year, and now with its favorite dinner living here, we will have to keep an eye out for him.
Well, heading off to do a little bit more before bed, chat again soon, Val { Post a Comment } { Last Page } { Page 73 of 91 } { Next Page } |
