101 Things to do in 1000 days

 

  1. Install a windmill to generate power for the homestead (Might as well start big ;-)
  2. …Or maybe solar…
  3. …first I’d probably fully research which alternative source would be practical in my area…
  4. …and then consider an alternate heat source (aside from the generator)
  5. Enlarge garden to feed the four of us
  6. Enlarge the fruit “orchards”
  7. Get or make a dehydrator
  8. Get a pressure canner to be able to can more
  9. Make a solar oven
  10. Buy Syrup buckets and taps
  11. Get belt on treadle for non-electric sewing
  12. When I need a new car, to get a hybrid or alt. Energy vehicle, or really efficient one
  13. Find the money to do this, since my car is starting to fade out
  14. To get closer to the 3R’s, reduce, reuse, recycle (or do without)
  15. To eat totally organically
  16. To eat locally 80% of the time
  17. Make Birch rootbeer
  18. Learn to make wine
  19. Move to use natural sweeteners only
  20. Finish teaching Hannah how to cook
  21. Learn to make cheese and yogurt
  22. “buy in” to a pig and cow
  23. get a pig or a goat
  24. sell homemade teas
  25. learn how to crochet mittens
  26. learn how to crochet granny squares
  27. make afghan for my bed
  28. make afghan for Hannah’s hope chest
  29. Help Hannah make her quilt for her bed
  30. Make Window Quilts
  31. make soap with Hannah
  32. make a table runner for the dining room table
  33. Make more cloth napkins
  34. finish cross stitch quilt
  35. Finish inside painting (Stairwell and 2 bathrooms)
  36. Hang Family pics in “Rogues Gallery”
  37. Paint outside of the house
  38. Be consistent with Family Nite
  39. Finish Hannah’s recipe scrapbook
  40. Plan scrapbook nites together
  41. Institute morning prayer B4 our goodbyes
  42. Fill Hannah’s hopechest
  43. Give Hannah wings and teach her to fly
  44. Hike Cannon Mt.
  45. Snowshoe Pondicherry
  46. Sleep more
  47. Pray more consistently
  48. Daily Bible Reading ~ stop slipping
  49. Get a swim membership
  50. Practice bellydancing more regularly
  51. maintain and improve control of my diabetes
  52. Meet Lynne and Dee in person
  53. Meet Anne in person
  54. Make indoor clothesline
  55. Make all of our food from scratch
  56. Vacation with my sister’s family
  57. Go back to Texas to visit Sherri
  58. Get my master gardener’s certificate
  59. experiment with new growing techniques
  60. try new heirloom plants
  61. Save seeds
  62. Build a root cellar
  63. Work from home (this will be a tough goal to meet)
  64. or at least work part-time from home
  65. Find a used spinning wheel for Hannah
  66. Find a source of Alpaca fleece/roving for Hannah
  67. Or maybe get a couple of alpaca?
  68. Lose 15-20 lbs per year
  69. Grow my youth group each year
  70. Get married
  71. ok, ok…at least get a date
  72. alright!  At least meet some new people!
  73. Go to Amish country
  74. make beef jerky
  75. make homemade fruit roll ups
  76. Hand off Historical Society duties
  77. Utilize the town library more
  78. Explore sustainability classes through the Cooperative extension
  79. Begin to write again
  80. Write with a purpose
  81. and publish something worthwhile
  82. start wearing more dresses and skirts
  83. Take better care of my skin
  84. grow my hair out long
  85. build a fire pit/stone stove out in the yard
  86. Grow grains
  87. or find a local source for grain
  88. grind my own flours
  89. Try goat’s milk
  90. and goat’s milk cheese (goat milk fudge is YUMMY!)
  91. Increase my knowledge of herbs
  92. Use herbs to manage my health/diabetes
  93. Encourage hannah’s desire to be close to God’s earth/bounty
  94. Encourage Hannah to won her generation for Christ
  95. Build a community agriculture co-op in Jefferson, NH
  96. and building it into a regional Co-op
  97. Take herbal medicine classes
  98. Live like every day is my last
  99. Love with total and complete abandon
  100. Laugh like there is no tomorrow

101. Start over again with a new list when this list (or time) is up!
