Blackmoon recipe

Blackmoons are sort of like whoopie pies, only the "cake" is more brownie like.  This recipe was handed to me from my great aunt, "Matante Bill", as she is called.  Enjoy!

 

Valarie 

 

                      Blackmoons

½ Crisco

1 cup sugar

1 egg

2 cup flour

1 ½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp baking powder

½ cup Hershey’s cocoa (unsweet.)

1 cup milk

 

Mix until smooth and drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 for 7 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.  Cool on baking rack and fill.

 

Blackmoon Filling

 

1 cup Crisco

2 cups powdered Sugar

2 cups Fluff

1 tsp vanilla

8 tbsp milk

 

mix before making blackmoons and refrigerate until ready  to use.
