Orchard Awakenings

Here is the "orchard" as it stands, in bits and pieces all over the property...

Well the pear flowered and went by, alas we have no mate fpor it this year so no fruit.

None of the 3 apples have blossomed yet, so my guess is no fruit from them this year ~ it has been such a rainy spring!!  But the trees are looking good.

The plum is doing nicely, but being a first year transplant I don’t expect it to bear this year.

The peach looks to have made it through, but we need t prune it badly in the fall ~ I didn’t know that it need ruthless pruning in order to bear fruit.

The wild blueberries are turning blue right now, and the newly planted blueberry bushes (6) are bearing too ~ they will take a little longer to ripen but I am happy to see fruit ~ it won’t be much, but it be some!

My Valiant grape is flowering, and the Concord is looking good, hope it flowers off too, it is a later variety so there is still time.

The thornless blackberry and highbush cranberry are first year plants, so I don’t expect to see fruit, but the plants are looking well.
