Sisyphus Acres

An Icy Start to a beautiful day

Good morning, here in the North Country we woke to the loveliness of freezing rainÂ…while the shiny glaze is beautiful, driving to work in it is a test.  But we made it here all in one piece, praise God.

We had a wonderful evening, having supper with Diane and her daughter Samantha last night.  The crock-pot teriyaki ribs came out wonderful, we had rice pilaf and the dilled carrots as planned.  And yummy warm browniesÂ…mmmmmÂ…We used my mostly finished tablecloth quilt, with cloth napkins, the napkins rings, the whole deal, it was fun to use themÂ…and to tell Diane the story of the quilt.  It is made up of squares from quilt swaps, a little bit of my friends gracing my table every evening ~ it truly was lovely and warm.

They stayed and we talked until around 9PM.  Got the last of the laundry and dishes done and bills made out before bed, and even managed to hang up a few Valentines garlands in the house.  Tonight I will be shoveling/scraping ice and snow, then taping the upstairs hall to ready it for painting, and hopefully will begin to tackle the guest room mess.  Hannah will be tackling her room tonight after her homework is completed.  House is just about in order ~ great news!

My folks head back from Texas this coming week, so I would like them to come home to a nice clean house, with the yard all nice, and the new paint all completed. We will bake blackmoons for their return, as my dad has been craving them ever since we made them at Christmas time.

She had her first snowboard lesson of the season yesterday, she is pretty sore today, but she did wonderfully, picked it right back up.  But she is pretty wiped, sheÂ’ll be pretty crabby when she gets home I think, will be an early to bed night for her.

Well, IÂ’m off for lunch, join me for afternoon tea if you can, had blueberry tea at breakfast, and perhaps will have another cup this afternoon.

Until then, blessings, Valarie
