Organize Your Make-up

Organizing your make-up can be easy, but it can also be complex, depending on what you have available in your bathroom for storage. Many have a shallow and narrow drawer in which they have to store their make-up. Some may just throw it in the drawer. Others may have several drawers in the bathroom vanity to separate make-up from hair brushes, hair accessories, etc. Still other bathrooms don’t have any drawers, but are equipped with a closet only. You can see how this can affect how to organize your make-up in an efficient way. But it isn’t just the organization we need to deal with. We also need to consider the forethought of how to keep up with the organization and the periodic cleaning of the space. PHEW! What seemed so simple became complex very quickly. Here’s an idea that is adaptable, quick, easy, and best of all…it’s FREE!

TODAY 11-17-08

Outside My Window...The sun is shining, the dogs are enjoying the sun and chickens are pecking the ground

I am thinking...how grateful I am for the life I have

I am thankful for... for all the trials I have had and will have in life--Its then I grow

From the kitchen... I smell pot roast with potatoes, onions and carrots

I am wearing...T-shirt and long denim skirt

I am creating... a nice decluttered home for my family

I am reading...Raising Small Livestock(again)

I am hoping...for a mild winter

I am hearing...My crabb family CD

Around the house... everything is neat and tidy

One of my favorite things...Thanksgiving Turkey

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: finish up my decluttering and organizing

Here is picture thought I am sharing

Be sure to visit Peggy at "A Simple Woman" to join in and do your own day book.

• Monday, November 17, 2008 - Making Progress

Posted By Kris in Daily Farm Life

For a few weeks now I have been decluttering our home and making alot of progress--sorting through and getting rid of seem to the theme in my life right now--I have felt so burdened down with 'stuff'--Since the decluttering had been going so well I decided to rearrange the house--When we first moved here we had the television in the den downstairs--but it wasn't long until hubby complained and really wanted it up stairs--so I obliged, against my better judgment--wasn't long after that dd went to a phase of being scared to be downstairs(gotta love autistic children) so up came the computer and into the kitchen it went--I hated it--it looked cluttered and I would find myself stopping to 'just check my mail' and sit for an hour--needless to say chores got behind and soon frustration set in--soooo, today the television went back to the den without a fuss from hubby and my computer is now resting nicely on the desk downstairs--the upstairs is all nice, neat and decluttered and I am a happy camper! Its quiet and so much more cleaning and studying will get done without the excess noise and distractions--Its been a productive day around the farmstead!

Can I Have Some More, Please?

Steaming Fresh Produce

Over the last few months I have been asked about the new steamer zip style bags for steaming fresh produce in the microwave. Is it safe? Is it efficient? Is it cost effective? I have also been asked about similar questions in regards to the line of frozen produce that steams in the microwave in its own packaging. Here are the conclusions, thus far.
