Beauty for Ashes
Posted on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 11:16 in My Prayer for The Day - Post Comment

I have been re-reading a wonderful book I read several years ago. It is called "Beauty for Ashes," and it is a reminder of just how much God loves us all. I want to share a few of the scriptures that I found there, and pray they will encourage you, just as they have me.
Hebrews 13; 5-6
"...For He Himself has said, " I will never leave you, nor forsake you." So, we may boldly say
The Lord is my helper,
I will not fear,
What can man do to me?"
Isaiah 49: 10
"They shall neither hunger nor thirst.
Neither heat nor sun shall strike them,
for He who has mercy on them will lead them,
even by the springs of water,
He will guide them.
1 corinthians 2: 9
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard
Nor entered into the heart of man,
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.
Isaiah 43: 1-2
"But now, says the Lord, who created you. O Jacob,
and He who formed you. O Isreal
"Fear not for I have redeemed you,
I have called you by name,
You are mine.
When you walk through the waters, I will be with you.
When you walk through the rivers, they will not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scortch you."
When Isaiah the prophet spoke of the coming of our Lord in the old days, he said of Jesus, these beautiful words, and Jesus repeated them Himself, when He spoke in the temple.
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
Because the Lord has annointed Me,
To preach good tidings to the poor,
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of prison to those who are bound,
To proclaim the acceptable year fo the Lord,
And the day of vengence of our God,
To comfort all those who mourn,
To comfort those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness,
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord that He may be glorified (Isaiah 61; 1-3)
My prayer for this day is that all who read this post will be blessed, filled with the joy of the Lord!
Thank you

Thank you for posting that. I loved reading it. What a reminder it is. God is so good to us. Even when we mess up he is still there for us. To help pick us up and dust us loving off and sets us down to go again. Just like a loving momma does to her children. No matter what God is always there for us. God Bless. mj
