Keeping Faith in An Often Faithless World

in My Prayer for The Day - Post Comment

Good Monday evening to all.  I hope your day was filled with many wonderful moments!

I have been spending the day in good part, thinking on some things that have been heavy on my mind.  I spent some time writing for my blog, and teaching Pumpkin.  I cooked a good supper of meatloaf, mashed sweet potatoes and turnip greens.  All the while, in the back of my mind, there has lingered a deeper concern.

It has more to do with myself than anything else, and fostering a deeper walk with God.  How do I build my faith, and that of my liitle family, when all around there is so much evidence of eroding family values and clear demolishing of personal freedoms to worship as we see fit?

My answer is multi-facted, and still so simple.  I must walk not according to those things which I see, but that which I know to be true.  I must live in an attitude of belief, at all times, standing by my conviction, and keep my heart in prayer and supplication.

"Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."  If I want to keep faith, I must make faith a priority.  I have to read my Bible, on a daily basis, and with a heart ready to hear what lessons it has to teach me for that moment.  I must continue to read the Word to my family, stressing that living a life of mediocrity is not an option.

Keeping faith is a matter of keeing promises too.  I must strive to have my words be my bond, as the old saying goes.  If I want my children to value interigty, I have no choice but to model it.  If I want my girls to grow into the women of faith that I so desire them to be, I must be always spiritually aware, and certain of my own place as a wife and mother.  There can be no half-measures.

Oh yes, I know there will be days of failure, and moments of doubt.  I am human.  However, faith is a determined action, that brings about results.  My actions will have to be a clear indication of my beliefs, What will I do to keep faith in this time of wavering church doctrine and those who foster indifference and lack of moral fortitude.?

I will strive to serve my God in all humility, trusting Him at His word.

I will feed my spirit and that of my children and husband with that Word on a daily basis.

I will do all in my power to be a model of Christian womanhood, and a faithful wife and mother.

Please pray for me as I strive to walk closer to my Father.

Women of faith and strong families are needed now more than ever!!! The Lord has told us that we will live in perilous times in the last days.....

" this know also that in the lastdays perilous time shall come..." 2 Timothy 3:1

More than ever the Lord needs mothers who will teach their children of Him so that the world will be prepared to receive the bridegroom when He comes.....

Keep going...keep pressing forward..... your work is so important! Keep fighting the "good fight"....

Blessings~
Gloria
